Name a typical old geezer scent

Sample box arrived from the Czech republic. Ordered after a couple of beers last weekend so only a vague memory of what seemed like a good idea at the time. Anyway this is a list of my samples, knowing me probably the most inexpensive scents on offer, but all at least marked "for men" so got that right :)

Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Eau de Parfum for Men

Mugler A*Men Eau de Toilette for Men

Ted Lapidus Lapidus Pour Homme Eau de Toilette for Men

Right. Who was it who suggested Cerruti 1881?

Whoever it was raised my curiosity and has just cost me £19.

Definitely an old school scent and exactly what I like. Not sweet, not overpowering and yet very fresh. Underpriced given its complex fragrance. Altogether a superb bargain.

To whoever it was, I say, 'Thank You'

Re samples: found 1 ml sample hard to open and when it finally happened spilled half the precious juice on shirt but on the bright side it is interesting to note the very different scents I get from skin and shirt.

Versace Pour Homme Oud Noir Eau de Parfum for Men (dip stick): I like it, not clean and fresh, not a Satanfriendly scent :)

I recently fell in love with Tom Ford Oud Wood. Two problems - 1. The cost and 2. It lasts about 10 minutes on me.

I am, therefore, in search of a decent clone and had heard Oud Noir mentioned.

Are you familiar with Oud Wood and can you say if Oud Noir is anywhere near it?

re samples: Ted Lapidus, Lapidus Pour Homme Eau de Toilette for Men (dip stick): from 1987 and I believe joe mcclaine would dig the old geezer quality of this scent, it is in your face and built to last

That's been on my radar for a while. Always gets mentioned as an 80s powerhouse. I will get round to trying it soon.

re samples: Dior Homme Intense (dip stick), a modern take of the old geezer powerhouse scent, a flowery musk with good longivity, this scent is the old geezer mellowed down turned softie.

Get Tom Ford Oud Wood from Mr Perfume. Go for the highest quality oil and it's pretty decent. Failing that @Benz3ne can give you a list [emoji3]

I should have said I already tried Mr Perfume (both blends). They are both very nice in their own right but to my nose have far too much white musk or similar and just don't match the original. I usually find Mr Perfume blends to be pretty near spot on but not, alas, this time.

re samples: Mugler A*Men Eau de Toilette for Men (dip stick), not a citrus scent, not a barbershop scent, not an office scent, not fresh or clean, so I like it, warm, sweet, caramel.
