NEW DE SHAVERS - What to buy to get started...

Re: NEW DE SHAVERS - What to buy to get you going...

I have some questions about the products I have mentioned...

In what UK shops can you find the WS Classic razor?

Besides Tesco where else can you get the WS boar brush?

Real Shaving Company products...I've seen them in TK MAXXX, where else?

Boots (not all branches)

No idea, not really looked... I think I might have seen it in Asda though (not always)

Home Bargains, Poundland, Asda (also they do the NG range which is another Creightons house brand and £cheap)

Nice post Tony, should prove very handy for newcomers. You could always mention The Body Shop synthetic brush, I've seen a few posts where someone has been averse to using an animal hair brush and it's a good, cheap, readily available alternative.

Nicely done with links & prices.

I reckon the Boots original shaving stick is worth a mention & the Men-U shaving brush, available from Boots & John Lewis.

Seen the Wilkinson Sword shaving brush in Superdrug & Sainsburys as well.

Can I also recommend Ingram Shave Cream:

You can buy it from superdrug at £1.60 ish and I love it. Good cooling, fairly decent scent that fades fast and can be bought locally.

Cool.
I will get that Wilkinson Brush.
I was tempted but wasn't sure if it was synthetic or hair.

Using the Body Shop on at the moment.
Its not great but ok for a starter.

:)

Or, send her down town on a run around and you hit the online vendors

she's hidden my bank cards since the last stament :0( im getting very good on the PS3 mind

There's always Paypal!! :D

Actually it seems like quite a few chaps build up a balance on their Paypal account by selling some bits and pieces. It then works as a handy fund for future shaving purchases.

Most excellent thread! Made a list from this thread yesterday and went shopping for stuff. The Wilkinson brush and soaps are available in Superdrug - priced quite keenly too.
Any recommendations for a readily available pre-shave cream?

Anything but this…

Anything. I'd give a bar of coal tar soap a go before I tried to use this filth again. Seriously.
