Before and after pics are a must!I spent a few evening's last week watching videos about shoe polishing (and I thought I was sad watching video's of blokes shaving).
So I bought some Saphir Médaille d'OrPommadier Cream and Wax....and a horse hair brush. You know I'm a sucker for a new brush.

Any chance you could let us know how these Gillette Platinum blades compare to the Gillette Silver Blue ? It's would be much appreciated !A kilo of dependable tallow soap and a blind buy for some new blades

The Platinum blades are my favourite blades ( joint top place with Polsilver's).
I think they are much better than any other Gillette blades I've tried. I'm a fan of all the Gillette blades but I even prefer them over the more expensive 'Blacks'.

Thanks for your reply, I enjoy using the Gillette Silver Blues but keeps getting blades with that much glue on that it covers the blade edge and makes for an uncomfortable shave, I've used yellows and super stainless greens but I just found silver blues that bit sharper which suits me coz im using them in the Feather as d2 so I'm wanting something similar, haven't tried the blacks ! Thanks for the reply think il give em a go

My Charnley Forest Arrived Today..Its Lapped Flat & Smooth..I Done the Marker Pen Test & then Lapped it with 350 Grit to 1000 Grit..Took Me a Handful of Minutes..Its Smooth as Glass..I Am Over the Moon..I Will be Using this Stone with Oil..I Just Know this is Gonna be a Superb High Grit Capacity Finisher..No Bones about it..

Challenge accepted to try & make it as shiny as possible
Picked up a Braun Series 7 shaver today, kinda going the other way at the moment.
Going to be travelling a lot soon so think this will be more convenient, plus they are offering a 90 day no quibble money back guarantee so it seems worth a try.
