Old Spice

I was looking into buying some Old Spice aftershave. I read alot that the Indian manufactured version which is available on eBay is the closest to the original. But this may now have changed? I was wondering given the choice should I just buy the UK or Indian version?

Many thanks.

I noticed some of the listings on ebay have older shulton red plastic bottles in the listing. Does anyone know if thats what you'll actually get or is it a newer P&G bottle you are more likely to get?

It will be P&G you can look out for vintage Shulton but will cost!

I actually already have 2 bottles of the Shulton, one late 70s American and a 60s British one and they both smell different, the American one smells a little off but the British one is a lot more like the Old Spice I remember.

Im on the lookout for one of the last Shulton Old Spice bottles, those will be the ones that I remember from growing up but I cant find a date when they stopped putting Shulton on the bottles. I've got vivid memories of buying it for my grandfather and on the back of the bottle in blueish grey writing saying "Shuton - New York London Paris with the sailling yacht on the front and a grey stopper. I used to sometimes splash a little on myself when I was at my grandparents house and the way I remember it smelling is nothing like it is now. The new one is more powdery to my nose and the one I remember had a much stronger spicy smell.

Buying Vintage Aftershaves can be a bit of a gamble because the aftershave may have gone off. Having said that Old Spice seems to be very durable.
Why not buy both Indian and UK versions? Indian Old Spice will take 2 weeks to arrive anyway and UK old spice is about £5 so not very expensive.

No, the new stuff is a pale imitation of the shulton AS, worth hitting Ebay and seeing what's about.

The bottles had Shulton on them up until the Nineties...the dates can be narrowed down by studying the details.

One of the bottles that PaulH uses in a video is very similar to one of the bottles I remember.

I did find a picture of the back of an older Indian bottle however that shows the blueish grey writing I was talking about earlier. My Only guess is that when I was buying it for my grandfather in the early 2000s is that shops still had a lot of the 90s stock.

I've messaged a couple of ebayers who have the late 90s/2000s bottles to ask if those are the ones they have for sale.

I want to try a little experiment to see if there is a difference between them and the current bottle I have that was bought last year and the older style with the yacht. My theory is that the UK formula changed a bit later than the US.

Does anyone have a bottle of the UK yacht bottle that could confirm or deny this?
