One Blade Core

Mine came in through Germany, so no customs. They must have some deal going on there otherwise how can they ship for $8 ?? The big killers when buying from the USA are import duty then postage and VAT on the whole sum. Then to add insult to injury the rip off either by the Post Office or the carriers. You do not get the option to manage yourself they just charge an outrageous fee for what is a one minute job on a computer.
It would look like customs are happy to outsource the collection of duty and don't give a fig about the buyer. I would think it is their duty to contact the buyer ( email ???) and ask for the fee before release as postage has been paid and that can range from the sublime to the ridiculous.
With the advent of fast bank payments it can take only seconds from the receipt of the request for payment.
Hang on just looked down this SOAP box is getting taller, "KEEP CALM HAVE A COLD SHAVE"
I will be putting this to a reverse test soon, all will be revealed ... Later.

I did and the shaves were not nearly as good as with the Feather. Again this was just my observations as I only removed the spine of the Gem blade and didn't modify the blade any further.
How many shaves do you get from the feather. Reviews on blade life seem to differ for one to several.

Struggling with this one. 3 shaves and I think I am owing to put it away for a while. I suspect I may be using the wrong angle of attack or holding the razor in the wrong way. One thing, though. Despite the razor not feeling right and not always cutting cleanly it has neither cut me nor given any weepers at all.

I am going to take a break but I haven't given up yet.

Tried again with a new blade. It worked better which means that for me the original blade lasted 3 half-shaves, completing none of them.

With the new blade I finally completed a shave, with and across the grain. And on running my fingers around the chin and sides I found clumps which simple hadn't been addressed. So, once again, I finished the job with another razor.

I think I have been wet shaving for long enough, both DE and SE, to recognise a razor which is just not working for me. I may give it another shot but more likely I will dispose of it. Shame,

@49er i have now got my one blade core. I have had two shaves with the razor, using the same blade. The first shave was not brilliant, this mornings was very good. It just took a long time to get the neck right. On the plus side I did about 4 pass shave on the neck and touch up. There was no irritation and I would thing impossible to cut yourself. Jury is still out, I can always pass it on the my lad when he starts shaving, he needs something idiot proof.

Anyone got their v2 oneblade core yet?

I was going to send mine back and gave them a call. They said we now have the v2 out and we will send it to you for free, but they did say it would take some time for it to arrive.

What's the difference? I'm really happy with the one I have and I got mine from the first batch but if there is an updated version I'd be interested to see what the difference is.

Here's a summary of the email they sent round:

#1: Adding Back “Blade Lift Points” ➞ More Aggressive Shave
Chief amongst updates made is the addition of blade lift points which are incorporated into our GENESIS razor (pictured below) but were purposely omitted from our first round of CORE units.

These points subtly “lift” the blade to ensure an even amount of space above and below the blade within our 0.65mm gap design. Not having these points doesn't mean that our ideal exposure can't be reached, but a user is required to apply more pressure to achieve this. And as a result, the typical shave tends to feel a bit more “mild”, ideal for customers coming from a cartridge background.

For those who prefer a milder shave and are happy with the closeness of our round #1 CORE units, exchanging to a new model with the blade lift points added won't make sense.

However, if you find your current CORE razor to be too mild for your personal preference OR are struggling to remove hair in 3 passes, then we want to coordinate an exchange of your original unit to one of these new units at no charge.

To arrange for a complimentary exchange to our new more aggressive CORE unit, please send us an email at hello@onebladeshave.com and a member of our team will be in touch first thing next week with more details.

#2: Improved QA with Pivot Junction
We've also made improvements to our QA process with our manufacturer to ensure consistent durability between units around parts like our pivot junction. If you've had any issues whatsoever with the pivot of your razor and haven't already spoken to a member of our support team, please send us an email and we'll happily coordinate an exchange to a new unit.
