Go for it. If you need any help or advice, simply give me a shout.

I am working towards a Level 6 Diploma in Applied Health and Safety. Not sure what will be next, probably the Environmental Diploma.
That's awesome, thanks for the offer! If you need any help with chemistry-related things, just ask!

For me it's drumming and cycling (fair weather ;-) ) plus a passion for helping others be the best version of themselves they can be ( using a combination of NLP/Light/Sound and meditation) - not as wacky as you might think :-D
Finally I've also just started to learn how to code apps for iOS devices. And I wonder where the time goes.

I've recently got into my coffee. Never used to like the stuff but started drinking it white and now go for black, one sugar. Top that off with an espresso machine for Christmas and you have yourself one happy chappy (me). A good coffee makes all the difference!
Good for you. Totally agree.

If you are adventuresome and want the wet shaving equivalent to making espresso take a look at a la Pavoni Europiccola espresso machine. It's chrome and beautiful and looks like something right out of the 19th Century. Other then electricity used to heat the boiler water, it's totally manual. It uses a lever to manually apply the pressure needed to produce the espresso. You control everything and once you get the hang of it it make superp coffee.

Wow. That is a thing of beauty. I've got a delonghi somethingorother which does the job well! It's been set at a lower temperature so as to not burn the coffee and I top up with slightly cooled water from the kettle! When I can justify dropping big money on something like that, I almost certainly will!

The Loewy coupe was an amazing car. Wow!

Oddly enough I have a degree in Industrial Design and the Raymond Loewy Design Studio was a giant and revered at the time. Most of the things coming out of his studio were amazing.

As far as Tommy's Studebaker my guess it was a Champion. It had a bullet nose and started best being pushed down a hill with a jump start. If I remember correctly it also leaked a lot of oil.

Thanks for the great pictures.

As a 16 year old I was massively into the scooter scene and northern soul thanks To my old man, when I turned 20 I sold my beloved Vespa 90 for reasons that are still unknown to me now. The passion for northern soul never went thankfully and I've amassed a small honest collection of records.
After reading this thread I thought about my old Vespa and went on a hunt to find the guy I sold it to, luckily for me he's quite a prominent scooter racer so wasn't to hard to track down, after 20 minutes of chatting I've managed to get my pride and joy back and will be giving it a respray and fixing it up, hopefully before the end of summer.
Until that time comes here's a picture of me as a fresh faced, 16 year old on my way to a rally with my old man in the background. Clearly I loved the colour black, perhaps I was aiming to be a mix of johnny cash and Paul weller haha

You probably are aware though others may not be, Loewy's firm did two designs for Schick, the Flyer electric and the Christmas gold edition G2 injector.

Well done, I bet you're well chuffed :)

When I was 16 it was 1979... A year or two later there was that whole Mod revival thing, the film Quadrophenia and Madness, the Jam and other bands. I was into rock music, ELO, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and the like. I had a mate called Keith Harrison, he had a scooter and was into the Mod music, not sure whether it was a Vespa or Lambretta but he kept it for a few years, we did City & Guilds engineering, he worked at Rolls Royce Hucknall, happy days :D:)

I seem to work harder the older I get - which wasn't the plan - so most of my interests are nodding interests. I am a sucker for airshows, so looking forward to seeing the Thunderbirds at RIAT in July. I also enjoy vegetable gardening, which has been a hobby for the last dozen years and will endure when I retire. The magpie in me likes watches (I have a few); travel and cars can be a bit of a pull.
