Closed Pass Around: Supply Provision Single Edge - CLOSED

I'm not the best at writing reviews, so will keep this brief. I've now used the razor 3 times with the mid/2 plate. Lovely and smooth. I've really enjoyed the razor. The weight, which at first I though was going to be an issue - is offset by the balance which is excellent.

Really like this razor. Going to use the more aggressive/#3 plate for the final couple of shaves.

Thank you @Blademonkey & @riverrun for allowing me to try this fine razor. It will be on it's way to @matteob tomorrow morning.

I really enjoyed this SE. For me the mid/2 plate combined with a Chick was a nice and smooth shave. Just how I like it. The most aggressive plate didn't work for me.

Big fan of the form factor, weight and balance. A great design. Overall I enjoyed this modern SE over the Bunny (sorry Billy). Form an orderly queue gents, and give this razor a try! Well worth it.

The Single Edge will be on its way to @Glen_Lee soon so, thought I'd post my thought here before it gets on its way:
First impressions:
Love the weight & the industrial look. It is nicely finished too. No obvious machining errors, marks or other nasties. Strange loading mechanism - you don't really need to "inject" but I did and it worked fine with the Chick injector.
Looking forward to the shave later.. 2 days growth to #3 plate to start with.

Absolutely superb... Love it...
First go straight in at the deep end - #3 plate..
It is aggressive, think Schick E or PAL Adjustable opened up... But it is smooth and no concerns about it biting....
I was concerned about the weight, I was concerned about the [lack of] grip. But I need not have worried. It behaved exactly like an Injector should. Yes, it is heavier than any other Injector, but it is still nimble enough to whizz around the fizog. No issue with the grip, no fear that I could loose it.
Superb close and smooth shave with next to no irritation or AS sting.
Now for the bad points...
I don't think it needs to be an injector.. :scratchhead:
A simple straight forward clamping design like the (Mongoose et al..) would be sufficient. Would this cut down on weight? Manufacturing costs? Unsure...
But it works and a superb shave is the result.

Second shave in, again with the #3 plate and the Chick...
Not as good as yesterday with only 1 days growth so maybe the #3 is a little much for a daily shave...
Still, I like the the feel of the razor, the grip is super, manoeuvrability is great too. The killer feature could be the use of AC blades without injecting... Will be investigated soon

Shave off:
Schick N2 with NOS Schick Twin VS Supply Single Edge.
Right side of face with Supply, left side with Schick.
Simply to say the Supply really does hold it own against this favourite of injectors, both sides silky smooth, a couple of tiny weepers on both side, but soon cleared with the Alum. Not a great deal of sting, just a little tingle..
One thing I am now picking up on is the feel of the blade stops on the Supply... You can feel them during the shave, it's not unpleasant by any means - they are just THERE. These need to be modified IMO as they are huge in comparison to the Schick..
Damn fine razor this...
Much smoother shave with the #2 plate, very similar result though as the #3. I think with a thicker, more protective tallow lather the number 3 would be a good daily shave.
Another go with the #2 tomorrow, but will probably try a cut down AC blade to how that works...
At the moment I am on the buying fence @ £100+, I'd probably gamble at a lesser price though...

Was expecting great things from this Razor/Blade combo, but no, it wasn't great. Smooth, but fairly inefficient. 3 passes for a decent presentable shave, but I can feel plenty of stubble.. In the baldes defence it has sat on the shelf in the bathroom since November...
Next will be a run out with the NOS Schick Krona, then it will be time to move it on...

Wow, this razor loves the Krona Edge!!!
Proper smooth as silk and BBS pretty all over. A little AS, but I expected more.
This is one superb shaver, the only problem being the NOS blades are far better than the current available blades. Just as well I have a good stash!

Many thanks to @riverrun and @Blademonkey for the pass around

Another great write up, thank you. As a HUGE fan of this razor, it is great to read other's impressions as it gets passed around.

Great thread!

Fab write up @Glen_Lee , I'm pleased you enjoyed using what has become one of my favourite razors. :)

Lovely razor - would happily settle for the basic set with just the mid plate. Like others have stated; not sure about the price.
At $79.00 for the razor plus the middle plate I think is great value when compaired to other stainless steel razors and comes with a life time guarantee. Well Under £100.00 delivered to your door. :) Plus it's 20% off at the time of writing this using the code STOCKOUT

Not tried it yet but look forward to trying it soon. I have fitted the number three plate as I have found my adjustable performs best wound high. As far as design and quality goes it looks great. I would want the multi plate one but you are looking at £125-130 with customs and Royal Mail's extortion charge, unless these guys are willing to underdeclare like Colonial. Just can't afford that right now. Will report back soon. I am expecting it to be like the Schick adjustable on high but with a bit more glide thanks to the weight.

How are you getting on with the supply SE ?

Hi Paul I have not used it yet as I have been run down and had a bit of a skin breakout on my neck so been using a mild razor. I have set it up with aggressive plate, plan to leave off shaving for a few days and then give it a whirl :)

Well sad to say something is not quite right. It is currently fitted with the more aggressive plate and a fresh blade from the enclosed pack. However. putting it to my face the blade just would not cut at all and I had to abandon the razor and use another. Here is the picture of the set up and blade. I will try it with another blade and plate soon.

Hi Matthew, I cant really tell from the picture whether it is aligned on the teeth. However, when I used that particular razor, like any injector I realised that it benefits from having a blade already in situ. Thus, a new blade replaces the old one, and therby ensuring that it is aligned. Sorry, not sure if you have used an injector before.

However, the design of this razor possibly means that you secured the plate, then added a blade with the key/magazine? If so it would benefit from another blade being directly injected and replacing the blade that is pictured.

Its a smooth razor. Sounds like that the blade is out of alignment with the plate and/or securing teeth. Check everything looks square, then inject another blade. Try that before changing the plate and blade. Otherwise you may be back to square one.

Looking at your picture in detail I can not see anything wrong, as it is your first use with this razor could it be that you hadn't quite found the right angle to hold the razor? You could try and put the head of the razor on your arm and then while pulling along adjust the angle of the razor untill you feel/ hear it cutting. Some razors, infact a lot of razors have a different angle they need to be held at to alow it to be in the right place for cutting of hair. Worth a go maybe.

I am going to have another go with it tonight. I have changed the head and used one blade to set then put in another (seems a waste) but it all seems overly complicated to me :/
