Above is my most recent SOTD pic of the brush.

I had this brush as a gift last August so is a keeper for obvious reasons.

I love the weight of the handle (Heavy) and the plissoft synthetic bristles are wonderfully soft. The brush has decent flow through but perhaps I would like a little more backbone.
That, however is not the real issue. I just do not like the height of the glue bump. It is far too high and as a result it effects the brushes performance IMO.

I am considering buying a new knot for it.
My initial thoughts are a Maseto 24mm in Finest.
I am prepared to take the plunge and re-knot it myself but what are your thoughts gents and can you recommend any other knots for consideration please?

Perhaps I should leave it as it is? What do you think?

Many thanks in advance.
Wayne.

Another cut above (Chris) on YouTube, whose opinion I value, mentioned this is the best knot he has ever used:

Only a couple $ for shipping, unless you start adding more weight than a knot.

Reviews online match. I'll be ordering one soon.

Thanks for the heads up. That knot looks really interesting.
It is certainly one for consideration.

Wayne.

I have that brush matte black.

I didn't expect to like the knot, but I do. A bit floppy, but it does the job.

The only thing that annoys me is the colour of the knot, I really hate it.

It would look much better if it was one of the black ones.

Anyone reknotted one of these?
Does the synthetic knot come out in one piece?
How deep is the hole?

My main concern is the depth of the hole and I do no want to find out by taking the synth knot out just yet.

EDIT: one thing I forgot to ask is.
Do you find the glue too high in your knot?

Yes, you're being too fussy...:D .

I agree that it's a shame they used that knot in such a nice handle.

Don't really know how to answer that,. I don't have another synthetic to compare it to.

It does a decent job of making lather, so I guess I'm happyish with the glue bump.

If the knot was black, I would be completely happy with the brush. I dont know how long I can live with the ugly knot.

Now why did you show me that picture.
You have some gorgeous soldiers lined up there.

I haven't thought of a boar knot. That sounds very interesting indeed.

It may even be worth me buying another for the price and having a play with that one?
The handle is superb for the money. :)

Put a TGN short lofted high mountain white in it ;) it will look wicked......
P.S. forgot you like backbone sorry.
Me personally I love the short silver tip badger knots in long 400 type handles.
