Thur 15th June

Omega 11137 boar
Arran Aromatics Bay Citrus
Gem Junior 1912- brass
Gem coated [ 3 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse off
Floid Vigoroso A/S lotion

Fancied a change from the New Stuff, so went for my favourite 1912 model, the little Gem Junior.
I actually prefer it to the Damaskeene, and I use it as it comes with no shimming.

Quite amazing how this little razor, delivers a really smooth and comfortable shave which also scores in terms of finished shave quality. A bit cheaper too than the new Gem Powered Razors coming on the scene. Worked well today with the lather from this little used soap.

EVOO
PAL Injectomatic
Lacewood 24mm Finest
RazoRock Brain Freeze
Thayers Superhazel
Pitralon Classic

Nice easy shave, the PAL is so convenient and easy to use.
Would love to try so more injectors but haven't seen many for sale.
Love the handle of the brush, fits in the hand nice, hadn't used it for ages as it was stuck at the back of the shelf..
The Pitralon is one of my favourites, already have another one in stock to be put into service when this one is empty :D

Mastro Livi Club Razor 2017 it's here, at last!

My Mastro Livi Club Razor 2017 Edition is finally here in my hands and proudly part of my straight razor collection. Yesterday I received my Club Razor 2017 and when I opened the box I have been both speechless and happy for the impeccable beauty of this latest Mastro Livi creation exclusively made for the member of Google+ Mastro Livi Club. As for the shave, it confirmed all the good things I could experience when I tested the prototype of this razor. Impeccable smoothness and comfort in shaving, this straight razor gave me a magnificent shave with my usual three passes and it was a real joy to use. I wish I could make four or five passes, however after the second pass my skin was already smooth and received a very close shave. I am absolutely very happy about this straight razor and very proud about what we members of Mastro Livi Club have been capable of creating with their votes and the fundamental help and talent of Mastro Livi who created this exclusive and breathtaking razor!

Pre Shave: Hot Shower, L'Oreal Pure Power Face Wash and Proraso Green
Razor: iKon 104 + Handle from Razorock Hawk
Blade: Wilkinson Sword England (#10)
Brush: Mason Pearson Super Badger
Cream: Taylor of Old Bond Street Aloe Vera
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphrey's Witch Hazel
AS: Nivea Soothing Balm

Best shave I have manged with the iKon 104 today, as I now have a heftier handle on my SE Razorock Hawk I decided to try the lightweight handle from the Hawk on the 104 head. Previously I have used stainless iKon or Windrose handles, but I think these are too heavy for this aggressive head.

I managed 1 small weeper, but this was on a blemish/spot, the shave was very close and pretty smooth mostly, I could feel a bit of dragging and the razor felt like it wanted to skip at times. Staying focused I just kept it steady and no pressure which I think was easier with the lighter handle.

If I shaved with this razor/blade combo every day maybe I would get used to it, but that was too much concentration for a morning shave.

Amazed with the NOS Wilkinson Sword blade, shave number 10 and it still seems fine, I will be using my trusty Fatip Piccolo tomorrow so it will interesting to see how it goes for shave no. 11.

Thursday 15th June
Semogue 620
LEA Classic soap
Ever Ready Natural Angle aka Featherweight
GEM SSC #3
Rinse > Alum > Rinse
Duru Mandarin/Alcolado Glacial Blend
Neutrogena Comfort Balm
Aj10zwC.jpg

Last of my shave run with the more recent Ever Ready / GEM razors I have, was with the Featherweight with the unique plastic handle. I haven't yet been lucky enough to acquire a GEM Contour or Contour II, which I believe were the last of the GEM SE line.
The shave was lovely with a great finish, happy days!!!

3P preshave cream
Tabac Soap
Semogue SOC Boar brush
Cobra Classic with a Feather Superpro (#4)
Alum Block
Golden Jojoba Oil
Yardley Citrus and Wood EDT

Well today was certainly the 'Shave from Hell' It started last night. I fell asleep on the sofa. When I got
to bed ...I slept in. My shave was rushed. Not wise with the Cobra. Half way through my second pass
I sliced the top off a small spot. Copious amounts of blood. Eventually I stopped the bleeding........ but
it restarted while I was riding my bike to work. All of a sudden my visor resembled the lens of a camera
used in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I think that tomorrow I will get up on time and use something
milder ......... a shaving rest and recuperation day!

A lovely refreshing citrus shave. The first time with the soap and it gave a nice cushioned lather but not overly scented.
The Polsilver SI #1 performed wonderfully with the Rockwell set @plate 4. Another comfortable 3 pass shave with this razor :)
