S.O.T.D. Saturday 17th December to Friday 23rd December 2016

Thurs 22nd Dec.
The SUPPLY has arrived after excursion to the Sorting Office.
RazoRock Plissoft 24mm
Speick Active soap
Supply S/S Single Edge -on 2 dot
Schick NOS Plat [ 1 -Sweden ]
Alum Rub /Rinse off
Tuff Green A/S

Nicely packaged Razor. Loading of blade marred by the fact that it actually did not go in far enough to reach the second stop. Gave it a nudge, but not sure if it really rests evenly on the Stops. A friend said he resorted to hand loading, an option but not good enough on a Razor designed for blade insertion from a Dispenser. I find the
plate locater screw very fiddly.

Decided to go ahead with a Shave. Surprised that on a middle setting how little blade feel there was. The Shave angle was easy to determine, and the shave action so smooth it was hard to realise it was cutting. Found that I had to work hard to get a close finish , which though good on the upper parts was poor on the neck perhaps because of unfamiliarity. Will have to have further shaves on this and other plates, but at the moment feel that
I get a better Shave with my PAL adjustable.

ATT S2/ATT R1
Wilkinson classic(#3)
Semogue 610
Vitos red
Cold water rinse, DR Harris Bay Rum, Argan oil
A tricky shave today having lost movement in my arm following a 'little' accident at work last week but eight days growth is more than I can handle... First pass with the S2 but my hand/razor pressure was all over the place so switched to the R1 which made things easier. Not too bad a shave really...:)

Didn't really enjoy having to struggle with this blade to get a two-pass mediocre shave. Worked better with the Standard & the hoffritz OC. On the upside, NYR balm is becoming one of my favourites.
