Had to do a bit more work compared to some of my other razors.Three pass + pick ups with the little light Tech, job done and feeling smooth. The 1912 is a great performer, easy to lather and slick . finishing off with splash it all over, Brut.

ENJOY YOUR DAY FELLAS

Greetings

Prep: Shower
Razor: Ever Ready Little lather Catcher
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated
Brush: Tuxedo Knot Vie Long handle
Cream: Simpsons Luxury
Aftershave: Astral Cream (soft)
EDP: Miller Harris Terre D'Iris

I used the handle from my GEM Junior Bar lather catcher on this razor as it is fitted with an extra short travel handle and the GEM Junior Bar is the only other razor I own with this less common coarse thread.

Regards
Dick.

Mastro Livi K720, 7/8 Full Hollow, Square Point

Sunny day here in Umbria, it is cold, of course - it is winter after all - and I wanted to shave with a razor having a pretty "warm" and round touch on the skin. So I opted for a Mastro Livi carbon steel razor and I chose this K720 blade with boxwood scales with chequered inserts. The more I use Mastro Livi synthetic brushes the more I think they are among the very best synthetic ones I have ever used. They have the right smoothness yet having a proper backbone for a beautiful feedback on the skin, mounting lather to perfection. As for the soap, Martin De Candre is always a very good choice, not to mention the Fougère fragrance which smells absolutely great, lovely and balanced. Mirsol F./Extra aftershave provided the finishing touch to this absolutely BBS shave.

  • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
  • Soap: Martin De Candre Fougère
  • Brush: Mastro Livi Perugia Eco-Silvertip, Bois De Rose, 26mm knot
  • Bowl: Bamboo Bowl
  • Strop: Mastro Livi Medium Loom Strop "Coramella Italiana" and Hand Palm
  • Razor: Mastro Livi K720, 7/8 Full Hollow, Square Point
  • Post-Shave: Alum Block
  • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extravirgin Olive Oil
  • After Shave: Mirsol F./Extra

I enjoy your pictures, but I've been meaning to ask, do you use anything other than Mastro Livi products? Does he provide you with these products or have they all been purchased like a normal customer?

Thank you for enjoying my pictures. I am a straight razor collector and collect them since 2000. My collection counts 298 razors of which 29 are Mastro Livi razors. I of course purchased each one of them in the course of the time and I tend using his razors and brushes most of the times because I simply think they are the best ones capable of giving a very satisfactory shave. When I started purchasing Mastro Livi razors I progressively, I should say, naturally, stopped using the other razors because, in my opinion, they are better than any other razor I have in my collection.
