28/7/17

Pre - RSC Facial Scrub
Soap - Palmolive
Brush - Omega 82065
Razor - Yingjili Tech
Blade - Personna Platinum Chrome (2)
Post Shave - Witch Hazel

The slight degradation of the Personna blade's sharpness from yesterday's shave made it a lot more enjoyable to use, all in all it seemed to be an excellent blade.

I used my Omega boar brush after using the Omega synth for a few weeks or so, and noticed how much easier it was to create an airy lather using the boar in comparison to the synth. Even though the boar is relatively broken in with over a month of use and some test lathers it has a few needle sharp bristles; the sensation of stabbing myself gently in the face is one I could happily live without.

Thursday's Midday Shave

Wash with Nivea Men Sensitive
Wilkinson's Coconut & Vanilla body butter
DE89L/ Shark (2)
Mitchell's Wool Fat
RazoRock 400 Plissoft Noir
Proraso Green ASL
Lacoste Original

I let the Wool Fat Soap bloom for a few minutes prior to use. It really makes a difference, plenty of rich lather erupted almost as soon as I begun to load the brush.
While bowl lathering I splayed the brush bristles in the bottom of the bowl a few times to really get the most of the lather, result. . . Masses of lovely lather!
Second run out for the DE89L/Shark combo, and the blade is still sharp and smooth as the first use.
Three passes and a couple of pick ups has resulted in a very good finish.

I like to clean my razor and bowl before I put them back on the shelf, and today I accidentally dropped the bowl on the tiled bathroom floor. It hit the ground and ended up on the landing. I could see it was in one piece, and on further inspection it didn't even have a crack ! It's a good job it was only a cheap tapas bowl from Home Bargains.!

A liberal splash of Proraso and a couple of sprays of Lacoste and I'm smelling good !
It's just a shame I'm stuck at home with back pain. . .

Back pain, tell me about it! I hope you are on the mend soon :)

Wow! I have not used Proraso Sandalwood for a while and I forgot just how pleasing the scent is, as well as the performance. The vintage Rubberset Boar whipped up great lather. The Star has got to be the mildest razor in the den, but that does not mean it cannot deliver a great shave. Loaded with a Derby Premium blade, babies and dolphins are all jealous. A little Aubrey Northwoods balm and splash, and it is a great start to the day. Have a blessed day gentlemen.

I hope you get some relief from your back pain. Unfortunately, I know all to well how it feels.

Thanks guy's..

I know I'm not alone, back pain is very common.
My problem is the dreaded L5 S1, and degenerative disc disease.
It began when I was just 15, I'm 47 now.
This is my second bout that's been bad enough to be off work with this year.
I'm hoping to be back to work next Monday, it's driving me nuts being stuck at home and knowing I've got lots of work getting further behind.
