Brush:
Omega 21762
Razor: Parker Variant w/ Supermax Super Platinum (1)
Soap: Proraso Green
Post: Boots Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera Gel & Proraso Green Aftershave

Having listed the razor yesterday, I have had a change of heart and it is having a stay of execution until Sunday. I changed blade for today and used products that I know are good i.e. not crap like the Willliams shaving cream. Same shave as every other day only setting 2 for everything except ATG which I dropped to setting 1. A marginally better shave I thought, still get the little micro cuts under my chin but I get that for a lot of razors. For me the Supermax felt a less harsh blade in the razor than the Polsilver. I will try the blade again tomorrow then switch it out for either a Rapira or Voskhod. I really want to like and get on with this razor.

Happy Star Wars Day chaps! Live long and prosper.

Well done that man!..,"everything deserves a chance" so the saying goes, + 1 on the Proraso Green Aftershave "one of my favourite proraso range splashes.. & the Supermax Super Platinum blades, they match wonderfully with my Parkers, "i've come to relize that my mature skin is like a rhino's backside!..:p..so a aggressive or non-aggressive blade works either way for me.,i'm lucky..in general i find that non-aggressive blades work really well in aggressive razors and vice versa.i hope you find your "spot on Angle & blade match" with the Parker Variant. Take it easy.;)

Thank you, I hope so too. It is a good razor but hope it hits the mark for me. I think I was hasty so will give it a proper try out. I agree about the Supermax blades, wonderful blades and very cheap. I wish mine was like a rhinos bum lol I can use an aggressive razor but I prefer a mild, got one of those knock off Futurs on the way so that will be an interesting razor.

What Parker is your favourite?

Afternoon gentlemen,
Leisurely shave before setting off to Dorset for five days, wanted reliable, enjoyable easy stress free shave, and boy I got it!
Easy lather, gentle but efficient blade and a great smell.
Set me up nicely for the two and a half hours drive over there.
1912 Russian leather soap,
R89 razor,
Nacet blade #1,
Grosvenor brush,
And of course tabac lotion and underarm stick.
Fanbloomingtastic! :)

That's a good question.. if i had to pick one, for instant "i like this razor" then it's my recently bought 94R..then the 92R a close second.., the 94R's size, weight and balance is spot on for me, and it's quite an aggressive little lady too...all my razors including my parkers are ladies, which i treat all with the same respect..if i don't they will bite me!.

Hi @Bogeyman , I'm undecided to be honest. I like it for sure, it's a good size & comfortable to use but it's soft, very soft. There's nothing wrong with that, just I prefer my brushes a bit scratchier. I've got another razorock synth but haven't used it yet. I'll use it this week & see how it compares. Short answer though, it's a good brush...:D

Ok, spill the beans, what's the other Razorock synth brush you're going to use?

I'm eyeing up the Razorock 400 but I'm thinking it is firmer/scratchier than the Razorock "plissoft" Bruce; and I'm really looking for a brush as soft as the L'Occitane synth so was looking at the Bruce. But you're saying the 400 is a softy.
Let us know how your other brush compares.

I like the Ikon Tech with a handle lighter than the absurdly heavy stainless handle the 23g aluminum head is usually mated with. It feels less a party trick and more a shaver for humans. Unfortunately this travel handle of unknown origin is all I have. I'm thinking the Razorok titanium or Maggard MR14 could work. Anybody want a stainless (Italian Barber?) In trade for an unloved MR14? A couple of weepers on me chin but otherwise an excellent shave.

Testing Mastro Livi Razor Club 2017

Last week I went to Mastro Livi's workshop and I saw he started making the first batch of Mastro Livi Club Razor 2017, a magnificent straight razor the members of the club can order until 12 May 2017. It is a special razor created by a collaborative project of Mastro Livi Club's members on Google+, a razor of which I certainly am very proud of. Mastro Livi gave me the honor and privilege to try this razor while I am waiting to get mine as soon as he finishes making it. I therefore am having in my hands - and you guess I am very happy for that - the prototype of this superb straight razor in order to test and try it. The blade is made of stainless steel with three semi-precious stone inserts (malachite, white turquoise and coral), a 8/8 full hollow blade with a French point and scales made of cocobolo wood. I finally shaved with this razor this morning and - wow! - what a super performing shaver it is! You can tell it is a Mastro Livi - everyone knows about his proverbial skill of honing an edge to unequaled perfection - with a velvety touch yet giving a very close shave. I brought this razor with me in this month's trip and I will use it - with my absolute joy and happiness - until next week, so I have plenty of chances to test this razor. For the moment, this Mastro Livi Club Razor proved to be an amazing and very elegant masterpiece, an impeccable work of art of the highest expression of the Italian craftsmanship of which, of course, Mastro Livi is one of the most revered and significant representatives. Magnificent razor! Great Mastro Livi!
