S.O.T.D. Saturday 29th April to Friday 5th May 2017

Pre-match shave. Saturday 29th April:

Razor - Merkur 45 - never too sure if it should be followed by a c o_O
Blade - Voskhod (3)
Brush - Vulfix Progress 404
Cream - Truefitt & Hill 1805
A/s balm - Truefitt & Hill 1805

After almost 4 years of wet shaving; used Truefitt & Hill for the first time. Went for 1805 out of the sample pack. Scent wise; reminded my of a TOBS. Maybe Eton College or St James (been awhile since I last used TOBS). Obviously a very luxurious lather. You dont sell products for so long they have without nailing it

Not sure the scent is for me. The beauty of sample packs eh. Only another half dozen to try! I particularly liked the aftershave balm in terms of its performance. I look forward to trying these products again.

Quite like it although rose based it is not effeminate, being Amouage it is of high quality and has good silage and longevity. Worth a punt on a sample in my opinion.
Thanks @Wazzer3, I think the better half was thinking about a trip to the Trafford Centre in a few weeks, so will pop into Selfridges for a cheeky sniff.

SOTD 29th April.JPG
Pre Shave: Hot Shower, L'Oreal Hydra Power Face Wash and Proraso white
Razor: Schick Adjustable (7)
Blade: Schick Twin (NOS made in Holland) (#3)
Brush: Semogue 610
Cream: D.R. Harris Windsor
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys witch hazel
AS: Benjamins Bay Rum

Fantastic shave today, first time using the D.R. Harris soap, I think I added a tad too much water but lather still did the job. The Schick Adjustable on no 7 with the twin blade is just perfect for me. The result was one incredibly close but very smooth shave.

I thought I'd see if the Futur clone shaves as close as the Ikon Tech. For me it didn't today, the Ikon side of my head was noticeably smoother after two passes then the Futur side. Futur setting at 4 for seemed no more efficient than at 3, I think I'm happier at the lower setting.

Brush: Omega 10098
Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable ‘F3' w/ Supermax Platinum (2)
Soap: Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Coconut Oud
Post: Thayers Rose, Aloe Vera Gel & Ard Al Zaafaran Oud 24 Hours

All black everything today, what a soap and what a scent. I was unsure what to expect but I loved it. Very Oud dominant and not much coconut but it was most pleasant.
The blade worked well in the razor again, quite like these Supermax blades. Oud 24 Hours worked well with the soap, nice pairing.

Hoping a neighbour takes in my Parker Variant as I am out for the day and don't want the dreaded red card.
I'm seeing lots of aftershaves I've never before heard of on this forum.
This one has caught my eye in particular.
How would you describe the scent?

It's about the same as Tom Ford Black Orchid but £100 less YMMV, but don't take my word for it buy a sample of TF and a bottle of Oud 24hrs and see for yourself, the scent lasts quite well and is one I always have a bottle of....:) Frag notes...
Oudh, woody, warm, Amber, slightly sweet.
Another one that comes close is Oud black by Suroori, about £12.00 on eBay, worth looking at.
