Schick proline B-20

How do these Proline blades compare to the yellow packet chicks that some are buying from the US. The Prolines have been out of stock for some weeks now and I don't know if I should just wait for a restock, or put in an order to the US supply..?

For me not as good. They don't seem as sharp or as smooth and I can only get about 5 shaves from them before I get burn. I thought SE blades kept an edge longer than that. I will try another though before making final judgment.

To load 20 Schick Proline B-20 blades into an injector mag
Get a PAL Hollow Ground or Personna Precision Mag circa 1950's
Take off used blade holder and then pull out plug as shown in picture, remove blades and spring with a small flat bladed screwdiver
Place B-20 blades cutting edge upwards as shown and insert fully into blades space, making sure blade slider is fully forward, check blade cutting edges are in correct position away from edge that could blunt them
Turn mag 90 degrees to reveal spring cavity under "PATENT", insert spring feet downward and push until it clicks into position on blades
Finally replace plug closed end first and retaining lug upwards, the hole for the lug is shown in the picture
This saves the tedious process of loading the blades one by one into a mag

"Canned" reply from Edgewell:

Thank you for taking the time to email us about our Private Brands Group.

Your satisfaction with the product is so important to us, and your input helps us to continue to bring you products that meet your needs and fit your lifestyle.

Unfortunately, we are only educated on the Injector blades that are sold in the United States and in Canada and not in the Asian Market. However, if you are interested in purchasing our injector blades you can do so on www.razorsdirect.com...

This appears one of those corporate cases where the few who would know the answer are not those who answer e-mails or take direct phone calls, i.e., top brass. It appears the only way to know is to buy some to try.

Someone is finally selling these in the USA now:

I am awaiting a reply from Edgewell as to whether their three various injector blades are indeed different or not.

The B-20s are the best blades I have ever used even better than Artist Club Schick P-30s.
Why not try Rakutin:-

Choose small packet post and keep under £16.00 to avoid taxman in UK.
Good Luck

I may do that in the future and make it a "twofer" by getting this one as well:

Maybe a "threefer" by getting this as well, although it is expensive:

The Prolines are half the price of the 10 injector blades from Rakuten if you can load them in an injector and a lot sharper and smoother IMHO.
I have quite a few of the 10 injectors which I bought from Rakuten before the Prolines became available.
The Prolines are for professional barbers in Japan.
You can also buy Prolines from Connaught, although they are more expensive, but more convenient to obtain.

Never. Twin blades cause ingrown hairs on my face.
You can also load in a modern 10 blade Schick mag, just remove used blade container with a penknife - very thin metal. Once removed you will see two tabs, bend up with small screwdriver and remove end stop, this easily slide out with the aid of a small screwdriver when existing blades have been removed. You can then fit new blades as described #123.

That's a lot of needless work when you can take a small screwdriver and press down the spring from the top and load one blade at a time until full. Easy as pie. ;)

I received my Shick Proline b 20s from Rakuten earlier this week, I bought one pack to avoid customs. They are nicer than the Personnas I've been using and cheaper. Though I suspect customs would make sure that wasn't true if I bought in bulk. I transferred one over to my Personna dispenser using a small screwdriver as described above without incident. I'll certainly be buying more. I may risk 2 packs next time.
