PAL Injectomatic with a Personna Blade (#1)

First time using my PAL Injectomatic and what a lovely little razor it is! Three passes and a touch up in the usual place for an excellent BBS shave.

Sotd - 14/8 - Monday -

Razor (1) - Feather AC folding with Feather Super Pro (1)
Razor (2) - Merkur Progress (3.5) with Lodz Polsilver (4)
Brush - Semogue 1305
Soap - Cella
Post - Witch hazel
A/S - Artic Kinesia (Spanish)
Balm - BBA
Scent - Creed - Tabarome parfum.

Result - I had decided I must use a different razor today - so from the sublime to the ridiculous. I hadn't picked up the AC for some time - mainly because the last time I used it I cut myself on the underside of my chin - I still have the scar as a reminder of my folly. So with some trepidation I went to it. Using it with my dominant hand - right - wasn't that bad actually and it's certainly remarkable how close shaven you are left after only a wtg pass. Doing the back-hand - if I can put it that way - pass wasn't so much fun. It was clumsy and nerve-racking. I gave myself a slight graze on the cheek - nothing too bad, allum held against it for 20 seconds sorted it out. I wasn't going to push my luck with a second atg pass so picked up the Progress to finish off. It wasn't the blood bath of the last attempt anyway. I had chosen the Cella because of it's slickness and it didn't fail to deliver. It's a tallow soap - a theme in my favourites. It would be a problem if you don't like the smell of marzipan though. Paired with a boar - it's the law innit? I used a neutral smelling aftershave so it wouldn't interfere with the scent. This Creed is new to me and I like it very much. I had been looking for something that had a prominent tobacco element. It opens woody and a bit citrus and settles down to tobacco, leather and ginger. Very nice. The projection and longevity are excellent. Which you would expect from Creed. So - am I bbs? Yes - did I enjoy that shave? No not really. I do understand you need to learn how to use a razor like this and I'll persist but there may come a point that I think - why bother. Plastic surgery is expensive you know. Enjoy your shaves - cheers - I.

Oh - @Wayne Pritchard - no dragons were harmed during this shave.

Another cold water shave today, and I'm liking it!

Prep: cold water
Razor: Hydro 5 (8)
Brush: fine Stout
Cream: lucky tiger shave cream
Post: Origins Firefighter

Nice and comfortable, the lucky tiger isn't the thickest lather but it's nice smelling and slick.

Was hoping the Suppy SE I've got in the post was going to turn up today for tomorrow but alas it's not to be so likely to be a similar set up tomorrow.

Greetings All,

Monday shave.

One (and a bit) days' growth and warm shave

Preparation – face washed with Clique Liquid facial soap (mild)

Pre: None
Soap: TOBS Sandalwood shaving cream
Razor: Merkur 34C
Blade: Shark (2nd)
Brush:RazoRock 400 Noir

Post Shave: Cold water rinse, followed by a shower then Proraso aftershave lotion (red) and Nivea 2 Phase.

This morning was like welcoming an old friend back – my Merkur 34C. Strange how using other razors for a couple of weeks seems to change one's shaving – for the better I might add. 3 passes and overall, a great shave, nearly BBS today, and a happy man ready for whatever work had to throw at me

Now home after work – yeah right – KNACKERED

Monday 14th August 2017
Pre Shave: Hot Shower + L'Oreal Pure Power Charcoal Face Wash and Proraso Green
Razor: Timeless 0.68 scalloped base plate with smooth cap
Blade: Astra SP (#1)
Brush: Maseto 30mm 2 band finest fan shape
Soap: Czech & Speake - Oxford & Cambridge
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Nivea Soothing Balm

I decided to see how the Timeless works with a more available blade that the NOS Polsilver Stainless, the Astra SP is probably the cheapest of all the blades I like and it worked perfectly. If I had more time I might try some of the blades I have that I don't like in other razors, but trying the Astra SP seemed a better use of my time left with the Timeless razor. I ended up just going with two passes today instead of my normal three and it was still a very good result.

Monday evening...

Soap - Gentleman's Groom Room Highland Bothy
Brush - Semogue 1520
Face lather
Razor - Gem Flat Head Top
Blade - Gem Personna
Post - Thayer's Rose Petal and Aloe Vera
After Shave - Floïd MV

Nice relaxing shave tonight. I really like this soap's scent; campfire, vetiver and cypress with a great performance. The Gem's a beauty too...lovely balance and weight.
