I've been meaning to use this shave stick for a few years. Initially it was the heavy scent and the fact that I didn't like the idea of using someone else's soap (stupid I know). Then I forgot all about it until I dug out my Tech for my grandson to use, again the perfumed scent put me off. At the moment I have no sense of smell, so decided to give it a go.
I've failed to cut a long story short, did the soap perform?
Yes, it's a lather bomb and reasonably slick, but leaves the skin feeling a bit dry. Luckily I've still got some Skinfood to remedy this.

Awesome shave today.

I really like the smell of Chocolate in the morning. [emoji846]

Tuff Green A/S Lotion

After using a Schick E2 I just had to use a "Schick Buster" , which the PAL has been named by a few.Used an AC Schick blade which was on its 7th outing, and the shave was very smooth with a finish that equalled that attained with the E2.

I like both Razors , but consider the E2 as for occasional use only, whereas the PAL can be used quite easily as a Daily Shaver. In fact I use one fairly regularly as a Travel Razor, and will make sure that it is loaded with a Proline Blade.

I am annual leave today and travelling to Orkney tomorrow to visit friends. Had a lie in and just finished drying myself after showering when there was a knock at the door. The post man delivered my new Simpson Special Best Badger and Razorock Hawk SE V2 with Feather Pro blades. I was going to use other gear today but why not try the new razor. Loaded the blade and used the Hawk. Had a couple of small nicks and weepers but I'm putting this down to using an SE for the first time. The results are otherwise very good. :)

Have a great trip to Orkney, I hope you have a great time with your friends. :)

Thursday's shave :)

Pre-shave - Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap face wash, followed by Myrsol pre/post Shave Emulsion.
Razor - Blackland Sabre-SE.
Blade - GEM PTFE (Day 5).
Soap - Executive Shaving Natural Shave Cream.
Bowl - Little Wren.
Brush - Simpsons Duke 2 Best Badger.
Post shave - Myrsol "Metilsol" Astringent After Shave and Ibiza-Aloe Aloe Vera Gel.

Great shave today 3 passes, truth be told only needed 2 passes - went greedy, and as a result some minor redness on part of my neck. This went quickly after the shave, no issues.

All the best,

Chris

Blade: Astra SP #1
Razor: Muhle R89
Brush: Razorock 400 Aluminium (Synth)
Soap: TOB's Platinum
Bowl: Steve Woodhead
Post: Aloe Vera 100% Gel
EDT: Joop

Its been a long time since I used my Muhle R89 and it was a lovely experience. A very forgiving razor that gave me a comfortable 3 pass DFS shave.

My first time using the TOB's Platinum Collection cream. First and foremost I do not like the container. Fickle as it may be but it looks cheap and nasty IMHO. Obviously what counts is the soaps performance. The cushion, slickness and residual slickness is excellent but I wish there was more scent. I personally like a med/strong smelling soap that stays with me throughout and indeed beyond my shave.

The brush is the softest I own and even whipped up a wonderful lather using the Steve Woodhead bowl.

Finishing off with the Aloe Vera and the lovely scented classic, Joop.

Enjoy your shaves. :)
