Shaving Creams from India

Hello everyone,
I like budget/inexpensive shaving products and shaving creams in tubes. I must say majority of these creams performs great.
India seems to produce a wide range of shaving creams and in my opinion some of them are very good.
Shaving creams from India I've tried so far: 1-Old Spice(original and musk) this shaving cream is bit disappointing both scent and performance. Lather is ok and does the job, I can't say it is a bad cream but the lather is not as thick, dense and cushiony as other creams. Scent is very weak. Perhaps this is a good cream but because when we see the Old Spice brand, we expect a very good or the best product such as the OS shaving soap and how Indian OS aftershaves smell better and closer to the real deal.
2-AXE shaving cream; this is just a wonderful shaving cream with a great performance and wonderful scent. Scent is refreshing, strong and masculine. Creating the ideal lather is so easy.
3-Yardley Gold; this is another wonderful cream with a classic, strong and masculine scent. Texture of this cream from the tube is glossy and produces the ideal lather so easy and so quick.
4-Dettol cool; similar story as Old Spice, it is an ok cream with a very weak scent, lather is not as thick, dense and cushiony as its other Indian counterparts that I've tried. Cream out the tube is blue and due to menthol content it has a slight cooling affect.
These are the ones I've tried so far and I know there are more such as Godrej and Vicco Turmeric. Few members reviewed the Turmeric foamy cream and it is supposed to be good.
The ones that I can suggest are Axe and Yardley Gold as they won't disappoint.

I've not tried the Axe, what would you say it compares to? If you can find it i'll say try the Wild Stone Ultra Sensual. It has as good lather as the Yardley Gold and smells like a cross between Blue Stratos and Aqua Velva. Wish I could still find it on ebay.

Wow that sounds great I'll search that. Axe has a citrusy deodorant kind of scent, it is a great scent.

Nice, very interesting. Where is the best place to buy? did a quick search on the bay and only deodorant and edt comes up
This is the problem, I grabbed mine a year ago from a seller on ebay and when i'd run out due to use and sending friends samples I discovered I couldn't find the seller anymore or even find anyone selling either flavour of Wild Stone. If you do find anywhere selling either i'd love to know as well.

I have tub of Biotique palmyra picked up on Amazon couple of years ago for less than a fiver, can't see it on Amazon anymore but some on ebay, big tub of 180g.

I had ViJohn which was good, Dettol was kack, Dabur Vatica which is very good but Biotique is one slick cream.

p.s Maca root is close in scent and performance to Biotique.

I had my TOBS mixed with the GFT but it's all YMMV on SOTD..

Sezer, if you get a chance buy a dirt cheap Godrej shaving round. I have one (paid less than $3.00 U.S.) and all in all it gives a decent utilitarian shave. It does everything good, but nothing great if that makes sense. It actually lathers easily & quite well surprisingly.

Listing a few.

Yardley has many scents and great performers. Elegance is a solid performer.

Yes I have a Godrej shaving round, and I agree what you just said. It is a good little shaving soap does the job, but nothing exciting.

It's a top favorite of mine. Very old school formula and packaging hasn't changed in years and I see these present in a most of grocery stores in India, which means it sells pretty well.

The scent is pretty mild and old school industrial, I have seen some keen noses to say it has a whiff of lavender. To my nose it's a lovely fresh non intrusive smell.

What I want to know is if the Axe Denim cream smells like the classic Denim AS/EdT?
Axe Denim shave cream does not smell like Classic Denim aftershave, If you take off the hint of leather and add a hint of citrus, that is the best I can describe from my sense of smell. It is a very nice refreshing scent, as a matter of fact the nice scent is just an added bonus to the wonderful lather it produces, and you can produce the ideal lather in seconds and it is very protective.
