Show us your boars!

I wonder if Thäter is a Zenith knot but wisely set a tad lower for more backbone and density?
It doesn't appear to be a Zenith knot when compared to my samples. Of my modern boar brushes and excluding the Thäter I do find the Zenith knots superior to those from Omega and Semogue and the generic boar knots found in some others nice brushes. The individual bristles on the Thäter seem to have a larger diameter than those on the Zeniths and seem to split into longer tips than the Zenith. I think it is the wider bristles that give the Thäter the classic backbone found in vintage Rubbersets.

New Omega breaking in nicely. After 3 shaves & 5 nights of soaking:

20102 type natural bristles, 27 mm knot, 52 mm loft, turned Faux Jade, solid resin handle.
There are a few dark hairs in the knot that provide a little more scrub.
Used the new LEA stick & the strong marine scent has removed the:

27/52, daunting, my Omega is 27/57, lovely today but was a handful to break in, might give the new shorty a try at least no lack of backbone to fear but first I need to finish the Zenith adventure :)

Doesn't appear to be the same. My zenith 28 x 60 broken much quicker then my Thater which had more scritch. The zenith seems to have softer tips

Was thinking making my own custom brushes with Zenith knots, remove the plastic or metal container and set deeper than original, but maybe I will buy a couple of Omega brushes instead, proven high quality knots, easy to move to new handle.

Could you just trim the knot untill you had the loft you was happy with? Are there problems with doing this ? Just a thought.
