So what are your favourite childhood toys/games?

Who remembers 'The Gambler'? It was a spud gun which fired a cap. The chamber came out like revolver. It held a single ''round'' which was loaded with spud at one end and a cap at the other. Load, cock and fire. Blast from the exploding cap forced the spud out.

It was a one shot deal so ya had to stalk your pray, get in close and blast em in the back of the nut then leg it sharpish.

Best spud gun ever.

My absolute favourite was Muton. A see-through purple bad guy who got a few different costumes:

I still remember having to throw a right wobbler in Skills in Ilkeston to get that. My parents thought it was horrible.

I may have spent a few quid collecting some of these.

Holy Moly!

That's a blast from the past.

I got one of those (Cyborg) in Skeggy in about 1976 and was thinking about it just a couple of weeks ago.

That's my lunchtime Googling sorted then.

I had great fun with one of these. Shot the old man once lol ! Also had a pop gun that fired a cork, the cork was on a string . String didn't last long.

Ha ha, this is fun. That reminded me of a spud gun I had.
Air powered. As in as you squeezed it it pumped air through the barrel.
That was great. Obviously wore the valve out.
Well, that reminded me of a period of time:
OK, now, anyone remember this one? It was a favourite game of mine but nobody else had it.
I can't remember what it was called. You had 6 aircraft each. Brits and germans. Plastic clear vertical playing surface between the two of you.
You would fly around trying to knock the other one out of the sky using dice rolls.
It was great.

I wanted this:

I think I remember it being a bit like Battleships, but you looked through a periscope to spot your opponents ships.

and this too....

In retrospect, wanting was probably better than actually getting.
Oh yes. That one was an exciting one.
Until you played it.
My first insight into being sold an idea rather than a good thing.
(there haven't been many since)
It was fun for the first couple of goes, but far too easy.
I seem to remember messing about with the catapult mechanism quite a lot though.
Was pretty strong.
