SOTD - on paper

March 23, 2016 SOTD
This was supposed to be an Ever Ready Lather catcher. Well...eh... :)
The pen worked well though - Parker 25 RB, Fine 0.5

Not a huge fan of the Rhodia paper or the flip-over notebook design so will probably move on to my newly arrived Hobonichi! :)

Ha, could absolutely tell what that was.
'That's one of those weird cartridge razors Darkbulb is always buying' I thought to myself ;)

I like the simple line drawing with a little shading style you have on this one.
Really need to get back to scribbling myself.

Been using WatermanView attachment 17401 .
Found that the China made ones seem to dry in pen. Then again the Waterman is probably made there too.

I'm not sure the China-made inks are suitable for modern fountain pens.
Have you seen Diamine inks? British made and great range of colours. 30ml bottles are inexpensive anymuch big enough to try out a colours for many refills.
My favourites are Onyx Black, Midnight blue, Sapphire Blue, Bilberry and Red Dragon.

Used my Schick Slim Twin cartridge razor for the first time this morning.
Great cartridge as it gave me a really nice shave - but the handle is way too thin and lightweight for me.
Thanks for the recommendation on going with the original carts though @Sabre - they're really good and I might be able to use them on other handles...

And no, I still can't really draw but I'm still having a great time doing so :D

Enjoying it is the most important part :)
Have you ever seen the Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain book?
I picked up a copy as I was looking to start drawing and it seems really interesting. Might be worth a nosey?

Thanks, that actually looks really interesting.
The description really resonated with me;
"'Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain' is the world's most widely used drawing instruction book. Whether you feel you have little talent and you doubt you could ever learn, or you enjoy drawing but have not been able to get much beyond a childlike level, this book will show you how to gain the skill that you have always wanted."

Might have to check this one out a bit closer.

Having too much fun using my Hobonichi planner to doodle the SOTD in it :)
Drew it with a Parker 25 fountain pen (man, I love that pen) and then added some color with Deleter 'brush-tip' pens that paints kind of like watercolor.
