Greetings,

The Nivea Men shaving trio performed wonderfully yet again making my early morning shave a pleasurable experience..I have said in the past one of my all time favourite DE razors is the muhle r89..It was one of the first DE razors that i instantly bonded with when i first started DE shaving and have always had wonderful irritation-free shaves each time i've used it, today yet again was no exception.

Another very comfortable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Nivea Men ~ Body Shaving ASL Balm.

My face is feeling fresh super smooth, & smelling devine.;)

Smooth two pass shave today. I still haven't got the knack with the boar brushes, having to go back to the soap for a second pass today. I'll have to keep working at this to improve my technique. After six or seven years of traditional wet shaving I'm still learning.

Tuesday 13th November

Pears Glycerine Soap
Vitos Preshave Cream
Vreto Cognac and Cigars Soap
Simpson Duke 1 in pure badger
Gillette Superspeed Flare (A-1) with a 7 O'Clock Super Platinum
Alum Block and Rinse
Thayers Witch Hazel
MenU Facial Moisturiser Lift
Clubman Special Reserve AS

3 passes and a little touchup for an exceptional shave. It will be interesting to see how the shave lasts through my night shift. I was a very mild shave....but the results felt really good:)

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: DR Harris H3 Best Badger
Soap: Razor Master Toivo
Razor: Pils 101NE
Blade: Vintage NOS Gillette Bleue Extra (1)
Post: CRSW Alcohol-Free American Barbershop Moisturising Aftershave, Myrsol Emulsion
Scent: APR Fenchurch EdP

The lesson from this shave for me is how important it is to match the razor and blade. The NOS Gillette Bleue Extra blade seemed tailor-made for the Pils razor; I achieved BBS with three passes, which I have not been able to do with the Pils to date without a clean-up/buffing session after the third pass.
The pollen count is bloody high were I live, as I am adjacent to a nature reserve, and Spring has well and truly sprung. Besides hayfever, I sometimes get mild hives, which can be a right royal pain in the kyber pass for shaving. Hence, I went with the extremely skin-friendly Razor Master Toivo, hailing from Finland. This soap has a Pine Tar base, and those who have suffered skin issues will know that Dermatologists have been prescribing Pine Tar products for centuries. It did the job nicely, with soothing light beige lather caressing my face. It was further assisted by my softest brush, the DR Harris H3. This was the first fair dinkum brush that I purchased, some 10 years back, and ordered direct from the manufacturer in London. They certainly sent me an excellent example, and it has only got better with use.

Great post and a nice pocket watch - looks like a Zenith?

Thanks for the comments Tom!
To be honest I don't know. The watch is of WWII vintage and apart from Government markings there is no way to identify the make. I believe at the start of the war the watches were of a good quality....but as time moved on anything which ticked was used and I think this is an example of the latter. The markings are the Crows foot and G.S.T.P 111580. and Swiss Made

Speick Cream ~ Muhle STF ~ ATT S2 ~ Erbe Blade ~ Speick AS

First use of the S2 very kindly loaned by Rob @Blackmass (thanks again Rob ) What a lovely razor! Very solid and superbly crafted, it does feel like a high quality hand tool... Wouldn't have surprised me to find a "Snap-On" logo somewhere on it lol. In use it was exactly as Rob described, silky smooth, on par with the mild mannered Mulcuto for face feel (or lack of!) But the ATT has a much larger blade gap which made short work of the task in hand. BBS in 2.5 passes, super smooth with zero irritation... What else can I say?! Oh, angle was completely intuitive and if it was this good on the first run it can only get better right?

I'm just kicking myself for not checking these out sooner
