Vitos Red Cocco
Maseto Beehive
Merkur 34c
Polsilver
4711 Aftershave

Strange brush this one, sold by Maseto as a 30mm but it's more like a super extra mega dense 24mm! First use of Vitos Red Cocco, absolutely love it.... Perfect performance, medium strength amaretto scent, good post shave feel and it cost £5 for 250g o_O

Now that's what you call a lather shot! :) P.

Monday's shave :)

Pre-shave - Warm shower, Prorasso (Green) Pre-shave Cream.
Razor - ATT Bamboo SE Aluminum.
Blade - Kai Captain Titan Mild (Day 5?)
Soap - Prorasso (Green) Shave Cream.
Bowl - Little Wren.
Brush - Simpsons Chubby 2 Synthetic Badger.
Post shave - OSP Eucalyptus and Menthol splash, followed by Prorasso (Green) Post Shave Balm.

A very enjoyable, straight forward 2 pass, shave. While I enjoy using the ATT SE Aluminum, I do find on occasion that the head of the razor can jump slightly, when passing/cutting my stubble - its almost as if the head of the razor is to light, if that makes sense. However, this has never (touch wood) caused any issues re cuts/nicks etc.

It is very cold/raw today, I was glad that I used the Prorasso balm, as if gave quite good protection.

All the best,

Chris

Fatip Testina Gentile
Wilkinson Sword (2)
Phoenix and Beau Solaris
Thayers Rose, Rockface All Weather Moisturiser & Crabtree and Evelyn Hungary Water

A very good shave today but something was amiss. My lather seemed to continally disappear, I know it wasn't the soap and I did change to a different bowl but I have used it lots in the past so it shouldn't be that, so it must be the brush. Every time I had a brush full of lather on application it was very thin and weak. Aside from that a great shave and this Fatip is a lovely shaver, shame the plating it quite crap!

Mon 13th Nov.

Omega 10005 boar
Vitos Super Red
Supply SE-V1 on 3 plate
Personna [ 2 ]
Alum rub/rinse off
Pitralon Original A/S lotion

After a run of nice Injector Shaves, I decided to have another try with my hitherto unsuccessful Supply SE. Even on plate 3 with a Proline I was not getting a good all-round close Shave.

Today,I was using a Personna which is not my preferred blade, but many say it works with this Razor. With a great Vitos lather, I found to my surprise the first two strokes were really efficient despite the lack of blade feel. I found that due to lack of blade feel, it was easy to stray from the best cutting angle so the shave took longer than usual. However, for the first time I attained a pretty good close all round finish. Has only taken me 34 outings to do this !! Must be a good Week Ahead:)

Blade: Astra SP #2
Razor: Fatipe piccolo
Soap: MARKKU Whiskey Scent (Edit:) @wayne mattison deserves ALL the credit for gifting me such a wonderful soap.
Brush: Semogue boar
Scutlle: Giles
Post: Bull Dog Balm
EDT: Amen* Pure Coffee

Full up with a head cold I decided to go for a relaxing warm lather of the fabulous MARKKU whiskey scented soap. Beautiful scent aided the airways and the slickness and cushion is superb.

My trustty lttle boar got to work using the Giles scuttle and the razor left me BBS after three trouble free passes.
No irritation.

Finished with the balm and a generous helping of Amen *.

Prep ~ face wash - Birch tar soap
Razor ~ Hone Type 15
Blade ~ KAI Stainless
Soap ~ Vitos Red
Brush ~ Cadman Bell Silvertip
Scuttle ~ Giles Shaving Co
Post ~ BBA PSB
Scent ~ Penhaligon's Opus 1870

A wonderfuly close and efficient shave from my Hone paired with a Kai blade. The Vitos Red was as slick and protective as always, applied with the fab bell brush from Mervyn Cadman.
These blades do improve the performance of the Hone somewhat and are smooth in use.
A few sprays of Opus 1870 and I'm good to go! :)

Have a nice day..........:) P.
Opus! Mmmm in fact pretty much anything penhaligons mmmmmmmmm

Monday evening...

Soap - OSP Fougére
Brush - RazoRock Plissoft 24mm
Face lather
Razor - Gillette Old
Blade - Gillette Nacet #3
Post - Thayer's Rose Petal and Aloe Vera
After Shave - Proraso M&E

Terrific shave tonight. I'm delighted that @OSP is back with us. The Fougére performed beautifully as always; giving plenty cushion, glide and protection for the Old/Nacet combo. A tremendous tallowy post shave feel, aided by the cooling Proraso.

The Old is a great razor and has confirmed my love for Open Comb DEs. So much so that a Gem MMOC is en route from Etsy.

Evening shave.

BBA Face Wash.
Vitos Red.
YaQi 28mm Synthetic.
Little Wren Pottery.
Ever Ready 1914.
Gem (2).
Thayers Witch Hazel (unscented).
Proraso Green Aftershave.
Aloe Vera Gel.

Is there a better value for money soap than Vitos Red? Third use of the 1914 (on loan from the redoubtable @Boru62) and once again a very nice shave. Kevin kindly supplied me with a ready made shim but, being a bit of an imbecile, and despite fiddling around for ages, I couldn't get it to sit right. So a shimless shave, but a thoroughly enjoyable one. Have a good evening chaps.

The Vitos Red is, indeed, excellent value for money.

Voskhod #1
Yaqi 26mm
Wholly Kaw

Was going to shave yesterday but decided against it, and glad I did as I more than made up for it today. Lovely, almost foolproof, pairing with the Voskhod and Rockwell. First outing of this gloriously sparkly, cosmic Yaqi brush. A great brush it is, too, with enough loft to reduce the synthetic springiness a bit. I did enjoy using it tonight, I must be honest! Nice, hefty handle too and made short work of the King of Oud, producing a sheeny, slick lather. 2 passes and I'm very smooth. Happy Ben!

Who's next, chaps?! :D
