Lea Classic soap
Schick Type C1 Repeating Razor-open comb
Schick Proline [ 2 ]
Lea Classic A/S Lotion

Yesterday the Shave went so well, that I decided to use another Repeater Razor, this time the Open Comb C1. It was only my second outing with it , so I had a standby in case of mishap.

I kept the Shave simple with a dependable soap that I knew produced a good lather, and the no cost ingredients
Time & Care. After clearing one cheek and a few strokes around the neck, it was obvious that a spare Razor was not needed. At the end of a smooth and comfortable Shave, I was able with light polishing up work attain an ultra close all round finish. The Quality of finish is probably better than I get with most modern Injectors.

I must learn how to use the mechanism built into these Razors, that allows blades to be loaded from within, as currently I am loading Proline blades by hand.

Shavette with Gillette 7 O'Clock blade, OSP Chambre. I got complacent :_(

You know the point when you think you've got it sussed? I hacked my face to pieces! Time to slow down.

Then it was time for the weekly head shave. Swmbo offered to do it with the straight so I called her bluff. Her first time and she made a better job than I did on my face.

And for today my shave was themed 'Class'

20190113_185134.jpg

Upper class - Colonial General
Middle class - Kai Captain
Working class - Razorock Plissoft 24mm
Class act - L'Occitane Cade cream
Top of the class - L'Occitane Cade aftershave
Finishing class - Prada Luna Rossa carbon

After three days at work with no shave in sight this evening brought a very welcome and overdue rendezvous with a razor. On this occasion the reach for being the Colonial General as I do find it deals with a few days growth in a more effective manner than my DE's.

I don't think a shave could have been delivered any better than this. Everything about it just felt wonderful and the Prada Carbon just put that end of the day edge to it all.

A Class shave and a face as smooth as a very smooth thing. Brilliant and happy.

Another recent acquisition used with Reef Point Soap's Calming Spice. It has a distinctive appearance being a dark brown soap and the scent is almost coffee like. Almost cappuccino like. It took a bit of work to get a lather going though I do think it's been sat unused for a while. Once the water has worked it way into the soap it explodes. A good lather which painted on nicely.

A 3 pass shave with a few pickups and I had reached BBS. The lather provided a nice cushion and glide, but oddly during my 2nd and 3rd passes I could feel a very light tingle on my skin immediately after reapplying. It wasn't a burn, more like the start of a burn....if that makes sense.

With the slight irritation I expected a good burn when I slapped on the Floid aftershave but there was next to nothing. Likewise, Bart's balm had no reaction, just a nice smooth and well nourished feel.

I was intending to have a chill out shave, but half way through I got called out to work, hence I added the Floid Vigoroso....the scent certainly wakens the senses.

An overall DFS.

Have a great night folks.

Prep: Facewash with Pears soap
Pre: Proraso Sensitive Pre-shave
Brush: Wilkinson Sword Bristle
Cream: Derby Lemon
Razor: EJ DE89 Kelvin
Blade: Voskhod (2)
Post: Cold Water rinse / Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel
ASL: Duru Lemon
Moisture: Banana Boat Aloe Vera Gel

I enjoy my Sunday shaves more than any other. No rushing. Plenty of time to get a decent lather prepared and go steady with the razor. It's paid dividends today with a really pleasurable but close shave with no mistakes. The Derby cream provides a good protective lather if you put the time in and I love the scent. The aloe vera left my face nicely refreshed and feeling great.

Despite what Morrissey said, I kind of wish everyday was like Sunday.

Have a great week.

Cheers
Steve

DFS. Not BBS but still good.

A nice return of the Fatboy. What a bloody great razor.

The Boots Freshwood always gets overlooked. It's a refreshing scent. I'll fire some more on after my shower in the morning, in preparation of what this weeks weather intends to bring. It's to be cold and this steps up to the challenge!

Have a great weeks folks.
