It's been quite some time since I've been excited before a shave but the Rex Ambassador managed to stir the emotions. Sad but true.

It looks stunning and feels great in the hand. It weighs 106 grams and 87mm long, which is just right for me. So far so good.
I did find fitting the blade a bit of a faff TBH. Once fitting though the blade was held in rock solid.
Onto the shave. This was my first shave since Wednesday night so I started on number 6.
I didn't think there was excessive blade exposure/feel but it felt responsive and assured. I didn't think it was very smooth though. It wasn't rough but I felt quite a bit of drag. Maybe this is down to the blade being held in so securely?
I chose the Nacet blade as this is usually very smooth. I'll try a different blade on my next shave.
On the second and third pass I did lower the setting to 4 and then 3. On 3 it did feel a lot smoother.
After the third pass I rinsed my face ready for some touch-ups. WOW! No need for any touch-ups whatsoever. The end result was simply phenomenal.
A small note on the software used. I know Fine get knocked for their pricing but the soaps and aftershaves are top draw. Fantastic performance and scent...Oh and the brush was wonderful to use as ever.
