SOTD: Saturday 13th January - Friday 19th January 2018.

Tuesday's shave of the day :)

Pre-shave - Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap face wash, followed by BBA Pre-shave Oil.
Razor - Colonial Razors - The General, SS.
Blade - Kai Captain Titan Mild Pink (Day 5).
Soap - Wickham Soap Co. 1912 Citrus Musk Shaving Soap.
Bowl - Little Wren.
Brush - Simpsons The Duke 2 Pure Badger Hair Shaving Brush.
Post shave - Cold Water Splash, OSP Neroli and Menthol Splash.

A great shave - SWMBO was up early this morning, which forced me out of my pit, giving me more time to shave once the bathroom had been vacated :)

Having read @antdad tutorial on lathering hard soap: http://theshavingroom.co.uk/community/index.php?threads/lather-tutorial-hard-soap.9003/ I picked up a few tips and changed my lathering technique - with great results :) I found that adding less water and spending more time loading the brush with soap from the puck.

A very enjoyable shave followed - 3 passes on the face: WTG, ATG and XTG with a 2 pass WTG and ATG on the neck area. The OSP Neroli splash, as ever did the trick. As snow was forecast I applied a thicker moisturiser - Kiehl's Creme De Dorps, which absorbed in nicely. I find that I need an extra thick moisturiser after a 3 pass shave, when the weather is cold.

No problems, BBS on the face with a DFS+ on the neck.

I am really enjoying my shaves with the General SS - a great razor, however I appreciate that YMMV.

All the best,

Chris

Yet again a superb shave from the Personna. A great lather with the humble Wee Scot and the superb SV soap. It took me a long time to try their soaps but I am glad that I finally joined the party. Great scent and performance.

Date: 16 January 2018

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Brush:- Stirling Finest Badger 26/54mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Mitchell's Wool Fat 9x ----> (use the puck like a stick shaving on your face and the lather just explode not too airy just thick & slick)
Razor:- GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip
Blade:- GEM Personna SS PTFE Coated #9
Post-shave:- Thayers Witch Hazel / Lucky Tiger Aftershave & Face Tonic
Fragrance:- Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male

I can feel the GEM blade is coming to the end of finish line, I believe this blade can sqeeze one more to a total of 10 shaves per blade using the bullet tip and that is it.

I'm very please using the vintage GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip and this was my very first GEM single edge razor in chrome plating, which has been an amazing experiences throughout my shaves and I really enjoy it. I'm looking forward to used the GEM Micromatic open comb next, also the GEM Micromatic Clog-Pruf coming soon by via Internationl Postage, this is going to be a very interesting shaving experience using the GEM Micromatic open comb and the Clog-Pruf.

Also I received an amazing reply from my own mother and my girlfriend both saying that my face looks younger and moisturising like a completely bright fresh clean smooth face like a smooth

, I told them I've been using Mitchell's Wool Fat shaving soap for nearly a week and I also told them I didn't used any moisturising cream. They both went completely gob-smack and didn't realise this was a shaving soap, what else can I tell you guys because you can't beat the FAT!! you MUST have the FAT!! in your den.
I'm sure you'll enjoy the Clog Pruf and OC. They are beautiful shavers.

Pre Shave: Hot Shower + Body Shop Maca Root face wash and Proraso White
Razor: Occam's 3 dot plate/cap
Blade: Feather Pro (#2)
Brush: Maseto 24mm Extra Density 2 Band Finest
Soap: Speick Men Stick
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Nivea Soothing Balm

Second shave with the Occam's, I switched to the 3 dot plate/cap but stayed with Feather Pro. This was definitely more aggressive with a bit more blade feel, I even managed a tiny weeper. After the last shave giving a bit of irritation I made a point of watching the pressure and not going over the same spot. The 2 dot plate felt like it would not bite, but the 3 dot felt like it might, in fact I nicked my ear lobe but did not notice until much later, something I have not done for a while. This could be down to the size of the head or me being half awake this morning. 3 passes plus a bit of touching up around the chin was required, but a nice smooth finish.

I think I am going to try a Feather Guard for the next shave as this one of the recommended blades for the 3 dot plate/cap.

The Maseto extra density brush seems to be breaking in well and no noticeable hair loss.
