SOTD: Saturday 13th January - Friday 19th January 2018.

BBA Pre Shave Oil
Simpsons Colonel X2L
Wickham 1912 Irish Fern
Rockwell 6C plate 4
Wilkinson Sword ((England)) (1)
Lime witch hazel
Nivea 2 Phase Aftershave

An easy comfortable shave to remove two days growth.
I don't often use any pre shave these days but I'm pleased I did tonight
A few drops of BBA oil provided extra glide for the shave, and seems to have absorbed, nourishing my skin. Four hours after shaving I can still feel it. Excellent stuff.
I needed to take the brush back to the soap for the second pass. This brush has always behaved this way, although it only needed a few light swirls to reawaken the lather. I've only used it ten times maximum, so maybe it's breaking in.
The Wilkinson / Rockwell combo is a class act. As smooth as silk and very effective. Almost effortless, almost as if the razor was on auto pilot.
I'm conscious that I have a limited supply of these blades, so I tend to look upon using them as a bit of a treat.
Finished with Nivea 2 Phase. I think I over did it a bit as my skin felt greasy for a while after applying it , but it was soon absorbed.
Between this and the shave oil, my skin feels super hydrated.

Great set up Paul.

I used the same brush yesterday and I totally agree with your findings. it is a superb brush but I had to return to the soap half way through the shave.
...........and you need say know more with regards to the 6c. I used mine today on plate 6 and what a perfect DE razor it is . :)

Thank you Wayne

I decided to use the Colonel brush after reading your SOTD, and your comment about reloading for the second pass.
It's an excellent brush , I'm hoping the lather fade will abate with use.

Greetings All,

Wednesday shave

One day growth and warm shave

Preparation – Showered then face washed with Clique Liquid facial soap (mild)
Soap: P&B Citra Royale
Razor: Rockwell 6C (4P)
Blade: Perma-Sharp Super (3rd)
Brush: RazoRock 400 (face lather)

Post Shave: Hot then cold water rinse, Alum 2 Phase followed by Molton Brown Black Pepper AS.

Perma-Sharp Super Test

Day 3

Interesting shave today. It seems the Perma-Sharp blade maybe losing its edge. My 3 passes were less comfortable today and the post results were good, but I had a few weepers (fixed with Alum) and I did not feel BBS. This might mean that the Perma-Blade is a good blade for a couple of shaves, but lacks longevity. Tomorrow should be an interesting shave.

Cheers,

Brian

Wednesday's SOTD :)

Pre-shave - Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap face wash.
Razor - Colonial Razors - The General, SS.
Blade - Kai Captain Titan Mild Pink (Day 6).
Soap - OSP Bay Rum Soap.
Bowl - Little Wren.
Brush - Omega (Boar) 011829.
Post shave - Cold Water Splash, Boots Which Hazel, Ibiza Aloe Aloe Vera Gel and D.R. Harris Bay Rum aftershave.

Today was the first run out with the Omega Boar and the OSP Bay Rum Soap.

First impressions on the boar, good, slightly stiff (which is not bad) bristle, good exfoliation action. It took a while to get a half-decent lather up, however, I have no concerns on that part as I am assuming that the boar will need a little time to break in.

The OSP Bay Rum did not disappoint.

I only had time for a 2 pass shave today - no issues with that, BBS-/DFS+ finish with no issues.

All the best,

Chris
