Razor - Cobra Classic
blade - Schick Proline P-30 (1)
brush - Semogue 2000 boar
soap - Tabac hard soap
post - witch hazel
a/s - Tabac
balm - Wileda.
Result - my my - what a shave.
My home-coming Cobra shave - I'd been doing well with shaving more often recently but I deliberately let my beard grow in for four days to get the full effect of using the razor for the first time in months. When it was on its holidays - I was fascinated by how people found it for the first time with a variety of blades - their take on it. If there was any consensus - quite a few thought the Prolines performed the best. I'd never tried one in the Cobra before - but remembered that P. @Blademonkey - had kindly sent me a couple to try a while ago. That combination worked superbly for me too - as cleanly shaven in two passes as my normal go to - the Feather Super Pro - but oh so much easier on the face. When I loaded the blade - I wondered whether it was upside down or back to front - so apparently small was the blade gap - it does the job though - in some style. I shall be ordering some of these when Connaught get them back in stock. No danger. A big 'first world problem,' in selecting the software - so much to choose from? So - when in doubt Tabac. End of dilemma for me. In the short time I have had this brush - it just gets better and better. It's fun to use and the knot is breaking in much quicker than expected - certainly more rapidly than my 1305 did - which has a comparable grade of boar. I never normally mention the soap I use in the shower as prep for a shave but tonight I had run out of my regular choices - La Toja Magno or Agua Lavanda Puig but remembered that I had a lump of beautiful handmade rose soap that I bought in Marrakesh. I will never forget the terror - as - without really thinking it through - I dispatched it my hold baggage in the airport on the way home. Realising that in the bag - if it were scanned - was a kilo block of something solid looking and to make matters worse - there was 300 grams of Ras el Hanout spice mixture - if you are not familiar with it - it's a finely ground brown powder. It was wrapped in layers of plastic bags by the stall keeper to keep it fresh for me. Cold terror. Obviously nobody looked or I would still be walking like John Wayne.
Enjoy your shaves one and all - yours - I.

My second use of a modern S/S SE-Gem Razor.this time the ATT G1 , purchased from a Forum Member. Thanks to Jesus @ronindug , great service and delivered from Spain very quickly. Though I stripped it down.there is no need to, just slacken off the handle so the top cap is unlatched. Loading a blade is easy, just ensure side slots and central slot are aligned correctly and then tighten the handle.
Having a Heavy/stubborn growth I may not be the average Shaver, so please bear that in mind. From the off the Razor Is Smooth with little blade feel, but it is quite apparent that it is reducing the whiskers. The problem for me is in the closing Stages of the Shave, the smoothness of the razor gives the impression that the shave is complete, but close inspection reveals for me a lot of polishing up work is required. For a first Shave quite a good overall quality of finish, and no doubt will suit those with lighter beards. Is It better than some of my Vintage SEs, time will tell but it does cost a lot.
By the way rinsing/cleaning a Razor Is easy, the dreaded locking device can be retained in the handle. no danger of going down the the sink, unless you are really careless.
