SOTD : Saturday 19th May - Friday 25th May 2018

Wednesday 23rd May
Zenith 506U TS
Haslinger Honig
General Brass
Feather Pro #4
Alum Wash
Old Spice A/S
Dove Instant Hydration Cream
ZRCOkTO.jpg

What a great performance from this combination. I'd like to hope the reformulated non tallow formula is as good as I really like the honey scent.

Wednesday.
Prep: Hot towel
Pre shave: Prep
Razor: Merkur 34C HD
Blade: Astra S/S
Brush: New Forest Tubby 1 Finest
Soap: Renegade Atelier 'Ides of Fall'
Post: Cold water rinse / Witch Hazel / L'Occitane Cade After Shave Balm

two things stood out about this shave with 'Ides of Fall'.. firstly, it was very protective, as I was expecting some irritation from repeatedly going over a couple of stubborn spots, but nada... and secondly, the scent... I adore autumnal, smoky scents, and this hit the spot, BIG TIME! Yeah, a lovely shave, that..

Brush: Omega S10083
Cream: Tri-Coastal Design Milagu Black
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
Blade: Derby Extra (3)

At first I was impressed with how smooth the Derby was on day 3, until I noticed it wasn't cutting a damn thing! I managed to finish the shave with two passes and plenty of touch-ups, but it's the end of the line for the Derby. I've decided to blame the blades rather than the cream for yesterday's irritation. The cream isn't a patch on the Edwin Jagger stuff, but if you treat it right it gets the job done and I like the scent.

Happy shaving.

Wednesday

Cyril R. Salter Tallow
RazoRock Plissoft 24mm synth
Face lather
Gillette Old
Gillette Rubie
Thayer's Cucumber and Aloe Vera
Proraso M&E after shave
Floris No. 89 EdT

I'm continually impressed with the Gillette Old. An efficient little performer and still in great condition; as it's easily my oldest razor. Paired well with the Rubie; although on balance, I think I prefer the Nacet. I have a bunch of NOS blades that I must try.

Still loving Salter's hard tallow soap, with its subtle lavender hue and smashin' post shave feel.

+ 1 as far as the Cyril R Salter tallow soap is concerned, quality soap at a fantastic price. :) P.

I'd lost count of how many shaves were under this blades belt.
I thought it was two but it tugged a bit, so I think this was the forth.
All said and done, it was a mediocre shave. When in doubt change the blade is what I take from that.
Happy Shaving one and all.

A refreshing shave after another warm work day.

Finishing with Myrsol LImon and Eternity Summer. I'm sheared and smelling sweet.
