SOTD : Saturday 1st September - Friday 7th September 2018.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: M&F / Brad Forbes Finest Badger
Soap: CRSW Glide Barbiere Sapone
Razor: Merkur Futur (2)
Blade: Vintage NOS Wilkinson Sword Light Brigade (2)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel / CRSW Moisturising Aftershave Lotion
Scent: Alvarez Gomez Barberia EdC

Second shave with the Wilkie Light Brigade blade - still coming to terms with such a sharp blade. It clearly demands absolutely minimal pressure.
Three passes for a BBS result. Most impressed with the first use of the CRSW Glide soap. I had haboured concerns that it may be a difficult soap to lather, as I'd read that it needed patience and significant hydration. I found it pretty user-friendly; very slick, and a delightful scent. I was wracking my brains and olfactory sensors to recall what this soap's scent reminded me of - it finally came to me. At least from my perspective, it comes across as a slightly classier version of Sir Irisch Moos - which in my book is very much a compliment.
Also impressed with the CRSW alcohol-free aftershave lotion - very soothing and a very nice subtle barbershop scent.

Arko ~ Comfort A/S Balm.

Greetings,

A maiden shave with the Arko/Palmolive shave stick hybrid soap brought to my attention by @Fido after his post in the 'What Soap did you use last' TSR forum, I have to say both the Arko & Palmolive shave sticks are firm favourites of mine and it's never accured to me to try mixing both of these fine soaps together, the result by doing so is absolutely fantastic, a wonderful slick protective lather.& a superb post shave feeling to my face...This is a perfect in-expensive combo soap if your on a budget, like myself..It'll provide you with a superb lather which can match some of the overly priced artisan soaps imho, 'providing both the Palmolive & Arko shave sticks are suited to your skin type'.

A very comfortable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of arko ~ comfort a/s balm.

My face is feeling fresh super smooth, & smelling devine.;)

Enjoy your day, ladies & gentlemen.

Great idea! did not think of this...Palmolive and Arko are amongst my favourites, indeed I use them more than most others and generally find they outperform the artisan offerings for me...

Tired of waiting on uk for PA products, splashed out on some imports, the superb Atmotic :)

Tuesday evening

Proraso Sandalwood
RazoRock Disrupter 22mm
Face lather
PAL Injectomatic Golden
Schick Proline B
Thayer's Cucumber and Aloe Vera
Proraso Sandalwood after shave

I hadn't used my PAL for a wee while and was reminded of what an efficient little bugger it is. One day's growth removed, with that smooth feeling you get when you've hewn down three times as much. The Proraso is a great autumn soap.

Pre shave: Warm shower and Nivea face wash
Razor: Occam's 3 dot
Blade: Kai Titan mild (#3)
Soap: The Gentlemans Groom Room - Essence of Scotland Mountain Yew
Bowl: Korium
Brush: Proraso Boar
Post shave: Alum block, cold water splash and Thayer's Cucumber witch hazel
AS: Lab Series balm

A somewhat disappointing shave, no nicks, weepers or irritation, but it felt rough and despite 3 passes it was not that close. I find the Occam's shaves well but I need to adjust to the way it shaves more than any other razor, I also find the 2 dot plate works better for me.

Prep: Warm rinse with Nivea Sensitive Face Wash. Nuage shave oil
Cream: Executive Shaving Company Natural
Brush: Executive Shaving Medium Jock synthetic
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Gillette Super Stainless (4)
Post: Cold rinse, Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber followed by Bart's Balm Amber and Moroccan Jasmine.

Another good shave. 3 passes without incident. The Gillette blade is still smooth though I'll be changing it soon.

As a pre shave I used the Nuage oil again. This gives a bit more glide when the blade hits my skin but it's defo not as good as the Proraso pre shave cream. I'm needing to get different Proraso pre shave creams as all I have is the eucalyptus and menthol (which is great but I need something different!).

The ES cream performed to its usual high standard. I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it.

Finishing with the @BartsBalm was the icing on the cake. Smooth and supple skin.

Have a great night folks! [emoji482]

Pre-shave: Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap and cold water splash.
Cream: The Bluebeards Revenge.
Brush: Simpsons The Duke 2 Pure Badger.
Bowl: Aesop.
Razor: FaTip Piccolo.
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (Day 3).
Post: Cold water splash and Floid Vigoroso Aftershave.

04-09-18.jpg

A very enjoyable 2 pass shave: WTG and XTG on the face and WTG and ATG on the neck, a fuss free DFS + finish. Some 15 hours later, my skin still feels great.

A liberal hosing of Floid Vigoroso to finish off was amazing - I love the stuff!

All the best,

Chris
