SOTD : Saturday 21th April - Friday 27th April 2018.

Tuesday morning

Growth:
36h
Prep:
Hot shower with savon du Midi soap
Razor: Merkur 25C
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
Soap: Wickham 1912 Russian Leather
Brush: Yaqi 24mm synthetic
Post: Alum block and Alverde After Shave balm

As I am still fairly new to DE shaving, so I am trying to keep the hardware consistent throughout the week and stick to Wickham soaps. At the same time, I am testing how long a GSB-blade will last me.
I am definatly getting better, this was the best shave so far.

Gem Flying Wing
Gem SS
Omega Chunky Chubb
Cella
Pitralon German

...2 pass shave this morning as I was in a hurry. The Flying Wing still delivered a very smooth and close shave; a great shaver. Love the face feel from the Chunky Chubb and the Cella is just a superb performing staple for me. Finished off with some German Pitralon...refreshing scent, good performance.

Tom - ANZAC day -

'When I was a young man I carried my pack
And I lived the free life of a rover
From the Murray's green basin to the dusty outback
I waltzed my matilda all over
Then in nineteen fifteen my country said son
It's time to stop rambling 'cause there's work to be
Done
So they gave me a tin hat and they gave me a gun
And they sent me away to the war
And the band played Waltzing Matilda
As we sailed away from the quay
And amidst all the tears and the shouts and the
Cheers
We sailed off to Gallipoli.'

excerpt from - Eric Bogle - 'And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda.'

Yours - I.
Iain - your choice of verse is, as ever, impeccable. This song is very important to us. Thank you for this.

Omega 40033
Rockwell 6S
Bolzano (2)
La Toja Shaving Stick
La Toja balm & aftershave

This is my set up for this week, alternating between the soap and cream. Absolutely superb shaves, and for me it is a winning combination between the soap/cream and razor, the brushes don't matter so much, for face lathering I prefer a good boar one of the smaller Omegas like todays or the Bambino I used on Monday. I'm usually on the fence about a Bolzano but in the Rockwell it is superb. A single cut, though not where you would expect it, cut my bloody finger whilst stretching the skin going ATG on my cheek!

Wed 25th April

RazoRock Syn. 24mm
Speick Active
Schick Type " O"-Clone
Schick S/S Twin [ 6 - Japan ]
Tuff Red A/S Lotion

I think I got lucky when I to hold of this Razor, It may well be a copy but it feels good in the
hand and shaves well. I tried it initially with a single blade, but there is no doubt that it was
meant to be used with a Twin.
A very leisurely and comfortable Shave today, with a great close all-round finish being attained
without any problems.

Yaqi Sagrada Familia
OSP Lemon & Cedarwood
Ever Ready Natural Angle
‘Heavy Flat Top'
GEM SSC #4
Alum Wash
Irisch Moos A/S
Astral Moisturiser
Irisch Moos EDT

Two first uses today:
A recent acquisition, a complete, boxed & cased ER - HFT, plus the Irisch Moos combo from a recent PIF success.

The OSP Lemon & Cedarwood soap, deliberately chosen to compliment the scent of the Irisch Moos, helped give a super smooth result.
