Today was the baptism of fire of the BIC blade. My expectation was very high, which led to a really pleasant anticipation. And I must say, I am really stunned. This blade is very sharp and mild at the same time, more redolent of the Polsilver SI than the Nacet. As the Polsilver SI got discontinued (?) and is much pricier than the BIC, I don't want to exclude anything. But first it has to last for seven days. And should the BIC blade gain on sharpness after the first and second shave -- as does the Polsilver SI in comparison to the Feather --, then the clash of the giants will follow: POLSILVER Super Iridium versus BIC Chrome Platinum in my case. And I am really curious about it.

Regarding the Nuàvia Nera shaving soap: I for sure will not buy it as long as there aren't offered refills. Just out of protest. But damn is this a fine soap, maybe the best one I've tried and certainly not less than the American top-tier soaps (B&M Excelsior, DG Icarus, WK, CRSW). But I will 'blind purchase' the Pure2O DMS, which is much cheaper and seems to be close to its bigger brother in performance -- aside from the scent, which is a minor matter.

Shaving recipe for today.


Prep: Hot shower:/ L'OREAL ~ Hydra Power Mountain Water Shower Gel.


Pre:

warm wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Transparent Soap.

Brush: Chinese Unbranded Horsehair.

Bowl Lather.

Uber/Superlather: Williams Mug Shaving Soap / Palmolive classic Shave Cream + 6 Drops of Glycerin.

Blade: Gillette Wilkinson Sword Saloon Pack. (2)

Frankenrazor: Yaqi DOC 'Head' / Schmidt R10 'Handle'.

Warm wet flannel/ cold wet flannel to rinse my face.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade Menthol Crystals + Eucalyptus + peppermint,+ Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./Denim ~ Original ASL.

A comfortable Sunday morning 3 pass + pick ups near bbs shave with no errors to report.

After the wonderful performance from my Vie-Long horsehair yesterday i've carried on using my Chinese horsehair brush.

Last sunday i had a experiemental Uber/Superlather trial with Williams mug soap & Ingram menthol shave cream + 6 drops of glycerin which was a great success, today after soaking the williams in hot tap water for 5 minutes,loaded up my damp Omega 48 Pro added a almond size dollop of Palmolive Classic cream & 6 drops of glycerin to the mixing bowl adding more water to the bowl until i got the lather to the consistancy i like.

Another wonderful slick protective Uber lather was provided, the only difference from my first experiment was i added a smaller quantity of soap & cream to the mix, which was enough for my shave,without having a boat load of lather leftover after the shave.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of The Real Shaving Co. ~ Post shave Soothing Balm.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling devine.;)

I cannot understand why I could not get a Shave with this Razor when I tried it with a variety of Schick Blades. After trying out a Personna in a Supply SE with some success, I thought maybe a Personna with a Personna may work ??
Today I have just completed my fourth Shave with this combo, very smooth and comfortable and also very efficient. In fact I am finding that it has more blade feel than my Supply SE, and delivers a Shave as good but much quicker too.

I recieved a lovely parcel from my good friend @Digimonkey yesterday morning. A book - we run possibly the smallest book club in the world. Currently three members, but it does stretch to @TomG in Australia (new members welcome) - blades, postcards, and the Quorum Aftershave/EDT set. I was a little sceptical but actually it's a really nice fragrance, and the aftershave does it's job well. Unmistakably from the 80's, but (that's) no bad thing. So I'm feeling slightly less metrosexual today.
The Krona/7 O'Clock Yellow is a match made in heaven.

Excellent two pass shave this morning. The Maseto brush was soft and the lather it created with the Wickham soap was wonderfully scented. The Razorock SE razor passed as light as a feather and resulted in a super smooth Sunday shave.
