Prep ~ Shower, Mysore Sandelwood soap
Razor ~ Ever-Ready 1912 with Stainless Steel handle
Blade ~ Ever-Ready Corrux, freshlly stropped
Soap ~ LPL Oud Santal (Tallow)
Brush ~ Omega boar
Post ~ Bart's Rosemary and Sandlewood AS Lotion
Scent ~ Guerlain Santal Royal

Not much to take off after yesterday's evening shave but none the less enjoyable. A clean close shave and smelling fantastic! :)

Wishing you all an enjoyable bank holiday weekend. P.
I keep looking at your recently acquired boar and the more I see the more I want. It certainly looks to have extra density from boars that I have experienced.

I also love that Darwin Style handle on your 1912, it looks superb. :)

Thank you, Yes it's aesthetically pleasing and feels good to hold and shave with.
The brush is nothing short of fantastic, the illusion of extra density is because it is fully broken in and the tips are splitting giving a dense apperance, I would highly recommend this brush, quick to break in and a huge amount of backbone. Would I give you a bum steer Wayne! Go ahead and buy one. :) Paul.

Thanks for the reply Paul.
Your words are good enough for me.

Buy one I shall. ;)

Have a lovely weekend mate. :)

Razor: J.A.Henkels Friodur 72.5
Brush: Thater
Soap: Geo F Trumper Rose
Post: BBA Balm
EDP: Rose of Bulgaria

A single pass with a few touch ups more for the practice and the excuse to be honest.
My shave was so close yesterday I didn't have much stubble to deal with.

The little Thater is a great brush and bats well above its weight.

Soap works well with the EDP and provided plenty of slickness for a straight shave.

Enjoy your shaves and the Easter Weekend Gentlemen. :)

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Castle Forbes pre-shave gel
Brush: Tony Forsyth P&C LE 2017 Platypus
Soap: B&M Leviathan
Razor: Gillette Slim (8)
Blade: Vintage NOS Wilkinson Sword French Brown (2)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
Scent: Givenchy Gentleman

A 5 day growth due to some skin issues. Dialed up the Slim to 8, and into it.
Certainly more blade feel, but still very precise feel. I was at DFS after 2 passes, and only one tiny weeper to show for it. One more pass and a couple of buffs and I was BBS - a lovely shave! The leather notes of the soap matched well with the classic Givenchy fragrance.

Pre: Warm water face wash
Brush: Vie-Long 14846 Badger/Horse
Soap: WK Sublime
Razor: WS Empire
Blade: Hollow Ground
Post: Warm then cold water rinse, Pitralon Classic AS

Cracking shave with the Empire today, didn't have to fidget round with the blade exposure, spot on from the first stroke.
Holy cow!, for a vegan soap this stuff is brilliant, I'm looking forward to trying their donkey milk and tallow.
Happy Shaving one and all.

Am quite glad I gave this Razor another chance, I tried so hard to get a Shave from it. I bit the bullet and complained to Patrick at Supply, who at minimal cost [ postage] sent me a revised No 3 plate. I do not find it at all aggressive, but I does allow me to have smooth and comfortable Shaves, with a decent close all round finish. Am sure this will go down well with the new breed of Shavers who have never tried Vintage and seek a change from DE or Carts.

PS How can soap this good be so cheap. Cheers James @Acer89 for introducing me to it.

An afternoon shave today, no time to shave this morning before I had to go out early, so having some idle time I dcided to shave this afternoon. Usually I shave after a shower but didn't fancy the palaver so simply wet my face with a wet face cloth and face lathered the soap. Surprised at how good a shave I had, no issues with irritation and as well no prep aside from a warmish water flannel for literally a second or two to rub all over and moisten my skin. I will try it again tomorrow and shave before my shower and see how it goes.

People say prep is key to a good shave but I don't agree, technique and knowing both your tools and face trumps all I think. Plus using a razor like the Hawk I think it is harder to give yourself a bad shave than a good one.
