Thur 31st August

Omega 11137 boar
Lea Classic Soap
ES Claymore V1
Schick Proline P ( 3 )
Alum Rub / Rinse off
Lea Classic A/S lotion
Had a Shave with the Claymore today which I find to be a much better Razor than its sales might suggest. Perhaps not as elegant as other offerings about, but I find that the weight of the Razor, really permits the use of a no pressure technique.
Today's Shave was really easy and comfortable, and the finished quality being very good. Rather a shame that this good Razor will not be able to compete against the new S/S General in terms of price,as the Claymore is a Home Grown product.

Thursday 31st August

Olive Oil Soap
Proraso Sensitive Preshave Cream
Palmolive Classic Cream with added Cade and Birch Tar EO.
Turkish Copper Bowl
Semogue 830 Boar Brush
Feather AC SS Japanese Style loaded with a Feather Pro
Alum Block and rinse
Arko Classic Cream
Old Spice Whitewater AS

Off work today due to twisting my back last night. Today's shave had so much promise .....but ended up a little disjointed. SEptember starts tomorrow so it was a final shave with the Artist Club for a month. Half way through the shave...the postman arrived with my new Little Wren Bowl so I had to rinse off and restart after the delivery was made. Considering the reason....I shouldn't complain!
A fine result ....eventually. Two passes for a DFS.

Pre: Lots of cold water

Each razor was loaded with a shimmed blade, each with a shave under its belt. I was going to fit the Dammo with a 1914 handle but decided, it would only be a fair comparison if they were used as they were originally intended to be.
A two pass, wtg xtg, shave. Right side the Yankee Dammo, left side the British 1912.

After adjusting the shim on the 1912 and face lathering, a very smooth enjoyable shave was had.
Both razors are very efficient but on the xtg pass, the smoothness of the 1912 shone through.
In the balance of fair play, I pointlessly reached for the alum bar, not a sting to be felt on either side.

Slight victory to the British razor.
A slight victory is a victory and one the British should be proud of, thank you for the shave off. :)

Pre: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Tony Forsyth Playpus P&C LE 2017 Manchurian Silvertip
Soap: APR Bay City
Razor: Merkur Futur (2)
Blade: Vintage Gillette Super Silver (4)
Post: Osma Aftershave balm
Splash: Penhaligon's Bayolea

First use of APR Bay City. Wow! Sensational performance, and what a scent. A bold departure from Bay Rum; much fresher and complex than the typical scent profile. Another winner from the APR stable.
Three passes and I'm BBS without a single weeper. Finished with the equally bold Bayolea splash - wonderful!
