Blade: Astra SP #1 (trimmed)
Razor: Gibbs #15 Adjustable (on loan @Digimonkey )
Brush: Semogue 620 Boar
Soap: Le Pere Lucien Rose de Pushkar
Post: Thayers Witch Hazel Rose
EDP: Attar Sandal Rose oil

My first time use with the Gibbs adjustable so generously loaned to me by @Digimonkey. Thank you very much Iain.
I have read so many positive reviews about this razor and I was not let down.
It is beautifully designed. Compact & Bijou some would say. The balance and maneuverability is spot on.
So smooth and comfortable set at "N" for 3 glorious passes.
I always pair a DE razor for the first time with an Astra SP and it proved a great choice to leave me BBS.

The little boar worked perfectly with the small container of the LPL soap to form an outstanding lather that was so slick and beautifully scented. Post shave is fantastic. I love this stuff.

Finished with some Thayers and Attar Rose oil on my pressure points.

Enjoy your shaves! :)

Wayne - bugger me - is that my razor? It looks gorgeous in your picture. I would recommend to other members that you share your rare razors - in my experience they always come back in better condition than you sent them on their travels. ha ha. With the Gibbs start off trying it out at the 'N' setting on the first go but I know that @Boru62 and @Barry Giddens found it even better turned up just a notch to four. For me the best blade with it is a Lodz Polsilver or Rapira Platinum Lux. This is - obviously - a highly subjective thing. Each to their own. I was taken aback by how solid and hefty it felt in use for such a diminutive razor - I have hands like shovels. Were it not for the necessary blade modification - not that hard really - and even easier if you are gifted a punch for that very purpose - these things would be going at Slim and Fatboy prices. They are quite rare in a similar condition to the one you are using though - good luck in your quest - the Bakelite handle tubes have a habit of splitting I believe. They can be replaced but it's not the original razor anymore. I hope you continue to enjoy it - sorry for further extending your wish list mate - ha ha ha. Yours - I.

Thank you Iain.
Yes I shall try a few blades but straight off the bat this is one hell of a razor.
I have my feelers out already and all I can do now is persevere in my pursuit and enjoy this moment.

After use I have slackened the head and it is tucked away in my safe ready for tomorrow.
Cant wait! :)

Take care mate.

Wayne - and guarded by your dogs I presume - proper razor care. ha ha. Yours - I.

Blade: Triton R3 (#4)
Brush: Maseto 24mm Finest Extra Density
Soap: Scottish Fine Soaps

Fantastic shave despite the poor performance of the soap. I have managed a decent lather from this soap in the past but today it just started to disappear.
