Razor: Timeless Smooth Cap w/ Hempel Ti
Blade: Feather Platinum Coated (5)
Brush: Elite Razor Tres Amigos Desert Ironwood Beehive w/Envy White
Soap: Reef Point Soap Tranquility
A/S: Reef Point Soap Command Presence Balm
Bowl: Timeless

Not difficult to get good shaves with these tools. I am a little unsure of the Reef Point Soap. It works up a good lather, however, I'm not a big fan of the scent or the drying effect on my face when I finish shaving. The Reef Point Soap Command Presence Balm does come to the rescue.

Pre-Shave: SebaMed, cold water
Razor: Razorock Mamba SS
Blade: Ladas (1)
Brush: Tony Forsyth Platypus Prototype Bob Quinn Manchurian
Lather: Mike's Hungarian Lavender
Post-Shave: Alum, Stirling Bay Laurel Witch Hazel, Australian Emu Oil

Pre: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Tony Forsyth P&C LE 2017
Soap: SV 70th Anniversary
Razor: UFO Goliath handle - ATT S1 Head
Blade: Vintage Gillette Super Silver (3)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
EdT: Knize Forest

First shave using the UFO handle. As well as looking spectacular, it worked beautifully with the ATT S1 Head. Three passes and clean-up for BBS.
The handle feels great in the hand. It is slightly shorter than I am used to, but no complaints in either comfort or performance.
I also had my best lather yet with the SV soap - bowl-lathering and long slow hydration seems to be the key for me. A shout-out to @Blackmass - Rob, I kept the faith;).
Finished with my first use of Knize Forest. Knize Ten is my favourite leather fragrance, so I was pumped to get hold of its fougère stablemate. It has a sharper pine notes that Creed GIT or APR Suitably Attired Australian, but there are many similarities to both in the first hour, including a beautiful balance of green herbs and citrus. The dry down has hints of wood and musk, but unlike some others, it retains its original green fougère character, with unmistakable oakmoss coming through to beautifully cap off the "Forest" theme. What an interesting fragrance!

Tuesday evening shave

Blues Soap
RazoRock 400
Merkur Futur ~ 2
Old Stock Wilkinson Sword (2)
Lime witch hazel
4711 Aftershave

I hadn't used my Futur in ages, favouring my Rockwell and some other razors
My DE shaving adventure started with this razor around 8 years ago. I had no idea what I was getting in to at the time, and I learned the hard way to say the least
A comfortable two pass shave was had, with the Futur set a a lowly No2 aided by the excellent Blues Soap.
Finished with 4711, I was smooth and fragrant
Sat watching I'm A Celebrity, and the phone rings with a call out for a supermarket with a rat running around the warehouse, so my post evening shave experience was spoilt
Roll on Friday morning when I hand over to the next poor sod. . . !

Prep ~ Shower, Birch Tar Soap
Razor ~ Feather Portable
Blade ~ Personna 74 #2
Soap ~ Barrister And Mann ~ Leviathan
Brush ~ Semouge OC Badger
Post ~ BBA Post Shave Balm
Scent ~ Guerlain ~ Jicky EDT

Another DE shave today following yesterday's shave with the Eskimo, the Feather Portable has proven itself to be a very good razor indeed and I really enjoy using it. This was the first time I paired it with a Personna 74 and it was just perfect! :)
The B&M Leviathan was fabulous, great performance and scent and was face lathered with my lovely Semouge Badger...again, perfect!
BBA to finnish the close and comfortable shave followed by a body spray of what is becoming one of my favourite's, Jicky. Not everyone's cup of tea but I love it. :)

Wishing one and all a great day.....:) P.

Greetings All,

Wednesday shave.

One growth and warm shave

Preparation – Showered then face washed with Clique Liquid facial soap (mild)

Pre: None
Soap: OSP Fougere
Razor: Gillette Thin Adjustable (Setting 6 and 4)
Blade: Silver Star (5th)
Brush: RazoRock 400 (face lather)

Post Shave: Hot then cold water rinse, ALUM Nivea 2 Phase followed by Michael Kors EDT AS.

First use of OSP Fougere and initial thoughts – I will be adding this to my favourite list (my ever-growing list). Scent is subtle but very, very pleasant. Lather – one of the easiest I have made, being thick, rich and very cushioning with a nice amount of residue slickness.

The shave – 3 passes (setting 6 for WTG and XTG and setting 4 for XTG) and no issues

Cheers,

Brian

Happy Hump Day :)

Excellent shave this morning first time iv tried a vintage blade it felt good cut through my stubble with ease no tugging and it didn't feel aggressive I did palm strop the blade a few times before using it so this might have made a difference I look forward to using it again , the boots soap is great stuff as is the aftershave and balm left my face feeling nice and smooth and smelling great ... While typing this I just realized I didn't add my brush in the picture arr well to late now :D

thanks to @Bizzyberry for sending me a selection of vintage blades to try cheers mate :)

Omega 10037 boar
Tabac Stick
ER Streamline-clamshell set
Gem S/S [ 2 ]
Alum Rub/ Rinse off
Tabac A/S Lotion

In my comparison of the Sabre V1 with Vintage SE, I chose a Streamline . Where the Sabre is mild and provides a very forgiving Shave, the Streamline on the other hand is quite aggressive and requires care when handling it.

I am fortunate in that many of my early SE Shaves were with the Streamline , and it has proved to be one of my favourites.I find it very satisfying to have a Shave with the Streamline as providing you take care and concentrate you are rewarded with an ultra close all-round Shave. However, it is not for the heavy handed and requires a very light touch, otherwise you could be in trouble using it as I can testify when I sustained a mega cut, by being a bit gung-ho.

6th December

Olive oil soap
Vitos Preshave Cream
Zenith B07-Euroal Boar Brush
Proraso Sandalwood Soap
Ford & Medley Arrow 6/8 Sheffield Steel
Alum Block and Rinse
BBA PS Balm
Proraso Sandalwood AS

Cosmetically the blade is not much to shout about. Boxes of the blanks were found in a garden shed a few years ago and these were prepared for market. Some were better than others and I think I may have drawn the short straw.....however after 80 years in an outhouse its still not bad, and it shaves like a dream:)

Three passes for a BBS shave:)

If it wasn't for the maintenance....I would use these more frequently. Much more forgiving than a Feather AC type!

Soap: Grooming Dept. Conca d'Oro
Post: Chatillon Lux Fourth & Pine
Beautiful scent off the soap...I get mostly bitter blood orange scent and I do love it. I live close to Sicily and eating the blood oranges from there is a very nice treat. They taste markedly different due to the bitterness but the sweetness is very intense. As with all GD soaps, superb performance and CL's F&P pairs perfectly with it. A lovely shave, this morning.
