I normally use a milder razor for the first use of a Gem stainless blade but the long Windrose handle helped calm it down whilst keeping the efficiency of the 1924.
A very nice start to the week.
Happy Shaving one and all.

Ok, H&S warning coming up:
Do not start your shave without first checking that the blade is tight. In addition please ensure you have a styptic and a plaster handy.
Apart from the red trickle I managed to finish off with an great result. The Rocket is, imo a fairly aggressive razor as I've constantly had close shaves. This one however was a bit too close.

Omega 11137
MWF
Schick N3
Schick Twin -Japan [28 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse off
Puig Quorum A/S Lotion

After a great Shave with my Type F yesterday, decided to use the N3 with an aging blade,to be honest I did not expect much of this Shave, and I was right. Though there was no bloodshed or irritation caused, the quality of the finished Shave leaves a lot to be desired. Never Ever going to attain the number of Shaves some guys get with this blade, and in future probably will be happy to settle for 20 outings myself.

OSP Fougére
Semogue 2000
Face lather
ER 1912
Gem SS PTFE
Thayer's Cucumber and Aloe Vera
Fine Fresh Vetiver after shave

A fine (as it were) shave today. Beautifully smooth result between the OSP and the ER/Gem hardware.

The Fresh Vetiver came by post this morning and I think it's a really good splash. A nice hit of menthol, and it reminds me a bit of Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver; which I think it will layer with nicely.

I am a bit of a vetiver fan and it's nice to have it incorporated in an actual after shave. The Fine now joins a line-up of vetiver based EdTs and EdPs. It also contributes to a great post-shave feel. I know Mr. Fine's prices have escalated but, for me, this and the Platinum are worth it.

Prep:
Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Paladin Lotus Select Badger
Soap: APR Fenchurch
Razor: Wilkinson Sword "Sticky"
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (3)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel / Myrsol Emulsion
Scent: APR Fenchurch EdP

First shave with an APR soap with the new base. First impressions are relatively fast loading, and thirstier than the previous base. Very slick indeed, and outstanding residual slickness.
Love the Fenchurch scent - another dark and foreboding APR concoction - perfect for winter.
Also my first shave with the Paladin brush. A bit "tight", as you'd expect with a new brush, but soft tips and a lovely handle. A quality bit of kit.
Finished with the APR Fenchurch EdP. Has the same vibe as the soap, but with a powerful vibrancy and sharpness in the opening, balancing the dark notes beautifully. It reminds me somewhat of Caron Yatagan, with a wild animalistic opening, mellowing to a dark musky dry down.

Yaqi Evil Zebra
Gillette Rocket
Gillette Wilkinson Sword (2)
Extro Pirata
Nivea 2 Phase & Extro Pirata

This blade is decent in this razor but I prefer it in the Rockwell, feels more comfortable. As I shave today I'm musing whether now is the time to downsize everything. I seem to now have found my favoured razor and brushes, do I need the surplus? Likewise with soaps, I have my favourites and a lot only gets used 3 or 4 times a year. Just a thought that struck me when I realised I haven't used the Extro for a while.

Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle
Rooney 1/3 Ivory Finest (26/55)
Art of Shaving Rose Absolute shaving cream
Charcoal Goods Brass L1/Triad Aristocrat Brass
Wilkinson Light Brigade (2)
Guerlain Habit Rouge aftershave

It's easy for me to use too much of the cream; just a bit of it makes lots of excellent lather. It's complemented very nicely by the Habit Rouge.

omega_24.jpg
soap: Lea Menthol
brush: tiny 24 mm Omega boar
razor: Kai Captain w Feather Professional blade

This Omega from the Classic series will break in just like that, no struggle at all, a huge difference from my other Omega coming from the Professional series. I wonder if this is true for all models, different quality of piggy hair: all Classic series - easy break in vs all Professional series - a pain in the face break in.
