Thursday AM 2017-10-05

Georgetown Pottery G12 Scuttle (Green Oribe & Purple)
Rooney 3/3 Ivory Finest #2 (26mm/65mm)
Colgate Barber shaving soap with added menthol
Charcoal Goods Brass L1/Triad Brass Aristocrat
Polsilver Super Iridium (4)
Cigar Aficionado aftershave/Beer Soap Co. Ireland Tweed solid cologne

I melted about 1/8 tsp of menthol crystals in 1-1/2 tsp hot water and then pipetted that into the soap lather as I built it in my scuttle bowl. The lather was quite cold on my skin, and I liked it. I certainly would not want to use it every day, but once every couple weeks or so will be fine.

New soap, new razor, new blade! First blade I tried was dull as tarnished brass. I hand-loaded a new one and it made all the difference. Mighty lather was whipped up in seconds and about 4 day's growth mowed down with ease. I think it won't take long for me to really appreciate this razor! :D topped off with some Cosmo splash and good to go! It does smell odd... spicy sweet. It settles down in no time to a lovely warm scent though.

Who's next?! :D

Thursday evening...

Soap - Proraso Sandalwood
Brush - Semogue 2000
Face lather
Razor - Gillette SS Red Tip
Blade - Astra SP
Post - Thayer's SP
After shave - Proraso Sandalwood

I hadn't been near the DEs in the den for a while, so a shot with one one my favourites was in order.

A lovely shave followed. I am, however, an affirmed SE lover but it's good to dip into the DEs now and again; and the Gillettes rarely disappoint (neither does the Fa Tip Piccolo).

The Proraso Sandalwood is good for these cooler times, too.

I think he's a brilliant writer.
The Final Cut (Floyd) is another of my favourite albums.
Critical finger firmly pointed at all the world leaders at the time.
Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert has brilliant lyrics.

Yep, it's fair to say Roger likes to write songs about war and it's consequences.

One of my favourite Pink Floyd Albums is The Final Cut, The Fletcher Memorial Home for incurable tyrants and kings .......Fantastic.

Now that is an album I have not played in a while, I can vividly remember being introduced to this by my best mate and even better seeing the live show back when I lived in London, Hammersmith Odeon if I remember correctly. Wow that takes me back.
