Evening shave.

Olive Oil Soap
La Toja Shave Stick
RazoRock Bruce 24mm Synthetic
Gillette Super Adjustable Black Beauty
Astra SP (2)
Thayers Witch Hazel (unscented)
Pitralon Classic Aftershave

I thought that I best give my synthetic brush a run out just in case I manage to get away for a few days any time soon. And if I do I think I will take the La Toja stick. Such a good, fuss free lather.
I agree totally with you Barry with regards to the "La Toja" stick but have you considered BUYING D R Harris Windsor?

Look into my eyes, look into my eyes. You know it makes sense. ;)

Charcoal Soap
Wickham's 1912 Southsea Spray & Ever-Ready 600 Nylon Lucite w/Tuxedo Synthetic (24mm)
Star (USA) & SuperMax Blue Diamond (4)
Two Pass - WTG
Witch Hazel Toner
Ach Brito Eau de Cologne Lavanda
Jacques Bogart One Man Show EDT
Esprit Fougere Hair Tonic

Smashing shave, that! Fourth run with the SuperMax Blue Diamond blade, smooth and mild, coupled with the mild razor gave a really easy shave. Mild, but effective.

Much enjoyed was the Southsea Spray scented soap - thanks @Paul L who sold it to me. I gather it was surplus from a run for a customer and tubs were distributed amongst members of this forum. I love the scent and it's one I really enjoyed under the Super Smooth line. Fresh, ozonic and green.

With the wide tubs, Wickham's 1912 is just the right format for larger brushes. Granted, 24mm is on the small side of large brushed, but this one is thick and bushy (oo-er) and whips up a lovely thick lather. Sitting in a handle that once held a first generation nylon knot, I think this modern synthetic is just right.

And for this evening I have themed my shave 'Fresh fruit for a rotting vegetable'

uc

R89/Colossus/Feather
Traditonal Shaving Co Silvertip
Edwin Jagger Cooling Menthol
Acqua Di Parma Blue Mediterraneo Bergamotto Di Calbria
Some glass cereal bowl from dad's cupboards

Not that much different to all my other recent shaves but a night off the ship allowed me to visit my father and use some of the gear I have left at his place.

Made a nice change to use a different cream and a brush which isn't synthetic. A wonderful lather created by a very nice and capable combination. I can really feel a difference when I use the water local to where my father lives in East Yorkshire. It just seems to give me a much better shave than back home in Liverpool using the same gear.

A reall quality shave and topped off by yet another fragrance with a ridiculously long name. But one very fine scent with a very old school angle. ADP really do stir my soul.

The theme came stolen from one of the best albums of all time curtosy of The Dead Kennedys.

Have a good and cleanly shaven evening folk

3 passes - no cutting myself today!! Not quite as close as the last shave but also no blood, so... o_O

Soho Joe Original Face Wash
Maseto 30mm silvertip
Phoenix and Beau Oberon Soap
Geo. Wostenholm and Sons Pipe Razor
A little alum, and
L'Oreal Men Expert Balm

On a totally different note, I smelled Creed's Aventus and Vetiver this morning, and I know I loved one of them... but I can't work out which one! It was on my hand on my way home and smelled great. They're out of my price range really though. Ah well.
You only need one kidney right? Im sure you might be able to do a trade in the right circles.

Greetings,

The yaqi doc head with the parker 24c handle is such a joy to shave with,it astounds me how efficent this frankenrazor duo can perform, especially with the yaqi doc cap/muhle r41 bottom plate set up along with the 24C handle is my favourite frankenrazor to date.

The super-max b.d. titanium coated blades i find fantastic, i'll have to try a dorco titan blade with this frankenrazor another blade, i haven't used for a long time, i look forward to that in a future sotd,as both blades for me anyway are on equal par in sharpness.

Another very enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report, yet again.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Proraso ~ Sandalwood A/S.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling devine, with added protection to my skin, from the nivea men creme & the superb proraso sandalwood a/s, against the still chilling cold uk winds & now april showers.

Enjoy your day, ladies & gentlemen.

Nice and smooth again I enjoy using the proraso products I always have great shaves when I use them , my razor choice this morning was the yintal bad boy a fine shaver which gives me really close shaves its a bit of a step up in aggressiveness compared to my favourite razor heads (ej & merkur ) but feels good when in use and doesn't leave me sore I like it , the English made jewel blade is still going strong and feels better with every shave I will keep using it .........

Good Day Shavers :)

Sotd - Thursday - 5/4/18

Razor - ER 1912 English
blade - Corrux (lost count)
brush - Semogue 1305 boar
soap - Kent hard soap tallow
post - witch hazel
a/s - Nivea 2-1
balm - Nivea Men Creme
scent - Musgo Real - Orange Amber cologne.

Result - just fine.

Unusually shaving before going to work. I'm expecting to be on the streets all day - so a preventative shave was in order. It's unlikely to snow again today - it actually looks quite bright as the sun is coming up - but it's still very dry cold. Not good for the skin. So went for as moisturising a shave as I could work up. Tallow and lanolin soap - sounds ideal - I lightly bloomed it as I noticed that the surface develops cracks if you don't use it regularly - much like MWF - which it is almost certainly identical to. The 1305 was made for hard soaps - an embarrassment of lather in short order - it was going everywhere. Dense, stable and slick. I can't remember who - sorry - but someone recently described the auditory feed back from the 1912 as like the rasp of buttering toast - that's exactly it - spot on. A remarkably good razor for me. I was interested to notice that @Palmolive fox - also reached for the Nivea Men Creme as a 'top coat' today - I haven't used it for a while and now wonder why - it really does feel like an added layer of protection for your skin. Cheap as chips too. So - a lovely shave - off out into the streets to monster some miscreants - the first job of the day is a 'pressure' picture - we need a result - a two camera sort of affair - no excuses for failure will be accepted. Wish me luck - smoke me a kipper I'll be back in time for breakfast. Enjoy your day and your shaves - one and all. Yours - I.
