Thanks to @Barry Giddens for bringing Myrsol Blue to my attention.
Cracking scent, cracking face feel, cracking splash.
Happy Shaving one and all.
Glad you like it Kevin. Good match for the Noble Otter would you say?

Thursday 9th August PM

Prep: Warm water rinse, Nivea Sensitive Face Wash then BBA Shave Oil
Soap: Proraso Red
Brush: ES Medium Jock synthetic
Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless (2)
Post: Cold rinse, Thayers Witch Hazel with Cucumber then Proraso Post Shave balm.

I really like Proraso products however in comparison to last nights shave there is definitely a noticeable difference in the shave soaps. The Proraso Red is good but nowhere near the Gentleman's Groom Room Highland Bothy soap. It just wasn't as slick, but it was good enough.

Carrying out my usual 3 pass routine, the WTG and XTG went well. I made sure I concentrated on my neck as I went ATG, picking a different approach direction then a little bit of buffing in the same direction. The result - a noticeable improvement. Still not perfect but getting better. Again, after working on my neck I could see an increase in the amount of stubble in the sink....result!

My usual post shave routine with no stinging or heat. Just pleasant and acceptably smooth.

I'm happy with my technique everywhere but my neck however it's getting better. I'll work on it again tomorrow.

All the best folks (the weekend is almost here!).

D R Harris Lavender Shave Stick
YaqI 24mm Tuxedo Marble Handle
Blackland Dart
Old Stock English Wilkinson Sword (1)
L'oreal Hydra Sensitive Birch Sap Balm
Paul Smith Aftershave

This was my first shave with the Dart.
My first impression of it was that it is heavy, but very well balanced.
It seems to be very well made and a quality item. The machining marks on the under side of the base plate show that it had been hand finished to some extent.
It fits together very precisely and the blade is held firmly.
Straight off I could tell it was cutting very close. I was expecting it to be a mid aggressive razor, but I would say it's more on the aggressive side really. More like a Futur on a 4 setting, although the blade gap really didn't look that great.
This was evident during the ATG pass, and I picked up a few small weepers.
In hindsight I ought to have done an XTG second pass instead of ATG. I'll remember this for my next shave with the Dart.
I usually use chromed razors that glide easily. As this razor is stainless steel it doesn't seem to "glide" like say my 6C or a 34C.
In all, I'm pleased with how it shaves and I'm looking forward to using it again already.
I'll let my stubble grow out for three days and see how it performs with an extra days growth.
I finished with L'oreal Balm and Paul Smith Aftershave and my shaved face is thanking me for it.

Tabac Soap ~ Muhle STF ~ Merkur 34c ~ 7 o'clock Yellow ~ Tabac AS

Tabac Thursday! Back to basics shave with hardware courtesy of @Acer89, almost exactly how I started 2.5 years ago and what superb a shave it was... I originally sold the Merkur as I thought it too mild, well yes it is mild however I've since realised anyone can get a close shave with an aggressive razor but the 34c is much like the Techs and Feathers of this world, if your technique is on point then a close shave will ensue.
