Prep ~ Shower, donkey & Goat milk soap
Razor ~ Gibbs Adjustable number 17 set to 5
Blade ~ Lodz Polsilver #2
Soap ~ Stirling Spice
Brush ~ Kent BK8 Silvertip Badger
Post ~ Stirling Spice aftershave
Scent ~ Guerlain Mitsouko EDP ( once the aftershave has worn off)

A wonderful shave as always with this razor and blade, the Stirling Spice is very much like the Old Spice from years gone by and the aftershave is very close indeed. This has to be my top DE razor, I mainly use single edge razors now but like to revisit the few DEs I have left once in a while, keep my hand in so to speak! :)

Enjoy your weekend people but let's be careful out there!....,:) P.
Took a trip on a Gemini space craft........David Bowie.

Greetings,

Another early start for me and a new set up to start the weekend, I was searching through my very large quantity of de blades yesterday and came across the Personna blades, i bought from Asda when i first started de shaving, which i can't remember the last time i used them,so i paired one up with the Pearl SBF-11 razor and wow!, what a excellent match, very sharp smooth, and efficient.what more could i ask for.?

The Monsavon soap, excelled the shave which made my start of the weekend shave, very pleasurable.

A wonderful 3 pass + pickups DFS with no errors to report.

Finish the shave off with a generous splash of Boots Freshwood A/S
& some generous squirts of Oud 24 hours EDP to the pulse points.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling devine.;)

Enjoy the start of the weekend, ladies & gentlemen.

Today's shave:

rdt171209.jpg

- Mondial Mandarino e Spezie
- YaQi Bristle
- Tech with Tibam handle and Feather blade
- Pitralon Pure aftershave

:)

(The YaQi Bristle is a bit of a bother, because it sheds a lot. I've done a test lather and used it for proper shaving five times now, and each time it has shed between five and fifteen bristles to a total number of about 70 by now. Besides that, it's basically fine, but European manufacturers of boar brushes really don't have to lose any sleep over this particular competitor.)

Mandarin oranges were something of a Christmas time specialty in my youth, ubiquitous in December and hardly seen the rest of the year. No idea why. And speaking of my youth, another fond reminder of yonder days is 8-bit-music, as my first computer was a Commodore 64 (a hand-me-down my parents bought from a neighbour's kid older than me) and I got it for Christmas. :D

Razor > US Ever-Ready 1912
Blade > Gem SS
Brush > SOC 2012 SE (mix)
Soap > Wickham 1912 Irish Fern
Post > Thayers Cucumber, Irisch Moos ASB
A/S >Brut Splash

IMG_5604.JPG

Yesterday I received the ER 1912 (made in the US) that Arthur (@Electrif ) generously PIF'd.
This was my first shave with a vintage SE,this little GEM of a razor sang out with audio feedback and after the first couple of tentative swipes I was manoeuvring the razor around with the confidence of a man who had been shaving with it since 1912.
A marvellous trouble free shave!!!

Arthur kindly included a couple of grub screws along with a few Gem blades to get me up and running. He also sent me a very generous lump of Vetos Red super Cocco. What a star !!!

Once again Arthur, many thanks :)

Have a great weekend fellas

Saturday 9thDecember

Birch Tar Soap
RSC Facial Scrub
Vitos Preshave Cream
De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap
Omega 10065 Boar Brush
Merkur Futur with a Treet Durasharp
Alum Block and Rinse
BBA PS Balm
Benjamins Bay Rum with Pimento

The Vergulde Hand is a cheap 'man on the street' shaving soap. It used to be seen on the forum years ago but seems to have been forgotten. I can't understand why. It works rather well and has a pleasant cologne scent.
The Futur was my first 'proper ' razor and for me produces even better results now than it did all those years ago!

Three passes for a wonderful BBS shave:)

Before the commercialised ready made santa type Christmas stockings, people used socks.
I think it's because they're small enough to fit in socks without stretching them too much and still leave room for other little treats.

Morning gentlemen.
Finally a chance to post a sotd.
This was actually last nights very comfortable and efficient shave. I have started using the #4 baseplate on the Rockwell to get a closer shave.
The Gillette silver blue was great, sharp but smooth, three pass that's still pretty good now twelve hours later.
The woolfat? Well what can you say? Just awesome!
The omega was possibly not the best brush for this job, it's boar hair doesn't seem to hold the lather as well now that I have started face lathering.
Have a great weekend.
