What next?

For my DE shaving I'm currently using a EJ 89, with either a Polsilver or Feather blade. I'm not getting as close a shave as I'd like, so I'm going to try a more aggressive razor.

What would the recommendations be? Or is there anything I could change on the 89 to make it a bit more aggressive?

Rockwell 6C, adjustable and set the plate to suit your preferences. Maybe a Fatip Testina Gentile for a bit more bite than a DE89

Thanks for the replies gents. I'll give the shim a try. Also been on ebay looking for adjustable razors, ordered a cheap one from China - worst case it'll be £5 wasted.

Not a problem, my next scrape will be Monday night/ Tuesday morning.

If it's a Qshave (Merkur Futur) clone, you'll probably find it's really good. Have fun

I would also recommend a Gillette Rocket HD. They're great and more aggressive than your current one. Brilliant shaver.
