What type of wood is the left & right handle made of?

Turned by the late Bill Jack, & so long a go I can't remember what two of the woods are. The middle handle is Laurel wood (Prunus Rotundifolia) from my old garden. I think they may be Rosewood (left) & some sort of Birch.

Yes that rings a bell. I seem to remember the right being a burr of a wood. I will have to dig these out & take another picture or two. Not sure where to set the loft, the Vulfix knots go very floppy when broken in.

I'm with Donnie on the left being African Padauk. The right one needs to be turned around a little, but as a guess it could be Laburnum. I say this only because of what looks like pale sap wood on the front. Laburnum heartwood would be anything from a greenish brown, to a chocolate brown, dependent on how old the tree is.

This is all with tongue in cheek, it is notoriously difficult to guess timbers on a 'puter screen.
