Brush drying competition

index.php

hmmm, all my pics on the forum now seem have broken links, lost in the move to a new host I guess

I hang the big Omega pro knots because I can see and feel very clearly that the tips become wet and heavy only in this position. Orientation doesn't matter only if I aggressively squeeze > shake > towel dry excess moisture, which increases hairs shedding or breaking (bleached knots).

If doing the test I would use two brushes at the same time because I am not in control of conditions like temperature and humidity.

Other factors might play a roll - how well the brush is broken in for example.
You would have to do the experiment twice, changing which brush is allowed to stand up and which one has to hang.

Good to see this kind thread . Me? Never give this subject a thought. My badgers sit on an open shelf until I feel like a change. That period varies. From the hundreds that have passed through my home there are just five survivors still showing no signs of deterioration after many years of use. So don't worry!

Ok, brushes are currently drying, one standing, one hanging, will weigh and compare after 12 and 24 hours and fill in %

12 hours: standing xx% dry vs hanging yy% dry

24 hours: standing xx% dry vs hanging yy% dry

What where the weights when you started to dry?

Hanging brush: weight after shave 40,26g, water 8,6% = 3,50g

Standing brush: weight after shave 40,76g, water 8,2% = 3,37g

diff 0.13g

So brushes are quite dry when I have given them my usual treatment to get rid of excess water after shave
