Certainly...grate stick into bowl then repeat.
The problem with any soap is removing enough of it to form a credible lather to begin with...
If you have enough stubble coverage, give your chops a good rub with the soap stick to remove plenty of soap. I also like to massage the soap that's been removed into my beard to form a bit of pre-cream if you will.
If you can't remove enough soap with your beard there's nothing to stop you using the stick like a cake. Soak the stick for a few minutes or so and simply twirl your brush over the soap. That can be quite effective as you can place the stick right into the breach of the brush but take care not to be over strenuous and damage your brush.
Face lather as usual by adding a little water at a time to the brush if required.
