Some time ago I posted about a new, upcoming line of stainless steel handles launching soon but it seems that thread became a victim during the recent forum s/w switch.
I had the idea to make a 'companion brush handle' to my Wolfman razor as I really like the WRH7 handle.
I contacted James at Wolfman and asked him if it would be ok to create a brush handle giving homage to his design and he gladly allowed it.
So, I contacted Vincent (@Duvivier7) and he accepted the challenge with quite some enthusiasm!
A few days later the handle was ready...and this weekend I received it in the mail
Vincent even matched the brushed/satin look of the WRH7 - and all from just photos.
This one is machined to 25.5mm and 15mm depth to accommodate a 24 mm knot.
Due to the somewhat challenging design I gave Vincent it was hard to hollow out more and ended up weighing about 110gr. It's a very sturdy handle indeed and it goes really well with the heft of the Wolfman
(James has seen the finished handle and really liked it )
Coming up Vincent will setup shop on Etsy and his own designs will run $35.
Custom designs - including a potential Rubberset 400 homage handle - will have different prices.
I'm super excited about my handle and have to say Vincent is not only a real artist but also a really nice guy to deal with!
A photo of my new shiny:
And, here it is next to the Wolfman.
I love it!
Coming up next:
Now I have to decide on knot.....but I'll be sure to post photos of the finished, knotted brush
I know there was some talks about a bulk order from him...maybe even a numbered, special TSR order (and a unique design of our own in SS or aluminum) and after seeing this handle I'd buy one of those for sure!
