New Rocnel SE-G Gem style razor.

Extra shaving.com say coming soon. 525TL about £115 shipped.
I'm scratching my head and the other hand's stroking my chin.

I could cope with that.....but in the back of my mind I am thinking.....Do I want to pay a fairly substantial sum of money to be a Beta tester? The only thing certain is that once released into the wild.. an improved version will appear to correct the initial design faults!. I want one.....but I want to see how the wind blows!

My thoughts entirely.

My thoughts entirely, unforeseen teething problems, finishing etc.

Well, from the video there don't seem to be any bugs unless it don't shave well.
Just my point, I need to see a few reviews from people that have used them saying how fantastic they are, most bugs are hidden untill the razor gets some use.the video showed someone holding one and looking at it.

Rocnel blade loading demo video here:-

Thanks for that video. Now more certain that I will not be getting one as find it still quite ugly. I am lucky in that I can get really nice Shaves with an ER Streamline/ Jewel, and it is better looking than the Rocnel. and a lot cheaper too.

It's certainly not a very pretty thing but, as with most things Rocnel, it's a clever design, well-executed. I suspect that the other new Gem-style razors will look pretty similar, as I would think that the Gem blade places as many, if not more, constraints as the AC and Schick SE blades.

I may consider getting one, but that will depend in part on what the other planned Gem razors look like, and become available (and their cost). I have several old ones, of which my favourite is the Natural Angle, but I've been having a break from them, and I'm not sure that a new model is justified; even on the grounds of using up my stash of blades.
