Greetings,
After trying a sample of the K.M.F cream i was totally impressed how good this cream was and ordered some from ebay, You only need a small amount(2 squirts) into a mixing bowl to create a slick protective lather however, it's a very 'thirsty' cream so i add more water than i would with other shaving creams, the post shave feeling is brilliant, it has a mild patchouli fragrance which lingers throughout the shave & beyond, and the post shave feeling is amazingly good. I haven't got or experienced many vegan shaving creams or soaps, but this is a one i highly recommend, don't be put off by it's cheap feminine appearance, it's shaving performance i would match with other creams & soaps that cost twice the amount...A superb shaving cream.
maiden shave with the frankenrazor for the sake of my inquisitive mind,i was wondering how a Ever-Ready SE vintage razor would perform with a modern longer handle, after searching the net to see if it could be done?, and if someone had done this?, i found this excellent site.
razors.click - New handles for old razors
Having some excellent options, i went for the easier /quicker one, and ordered ten 8mm stainless cone point grub screws from ebay, which cost me the grand total of £1.20 pence with postage.
Arriving the next day, i tried one in my ER 1912 & 1924 which both razors married up wonderfully together, my remaining 1914 (brass) however wasn't successful due to been a brass thread, and i wasn't going to risk cross-threading my wonderful vintage razor , just to try a modern handle in it... Anyway i'm delighted that i can use most of my modern handles on the ER 1912's & 1924 if & when i want to.
How did it shave though?..The verdict?..Absolutetly brilliant, the schmidt handle, which is a spare took this SE vintage razor to another pleasurable level,it's slightly more top heavy, but the shave felt very comfortable with the longer handle.
My face was near BBS after two passes.A quick and final atg/pick up pass my face was BBS...What more could i ask for?...Another flawless shave...Next ER shave i'll try the longer handle out on a ER 1912.
Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of L'OREAL ~ Soothing Birch Sap Post Shave Balm.
My face is feeling fresh super smooth, & smelling devine.
Enjoy your day, ladies & gentlemen.
