I know this thread is UK weather, but I thought it was an interesting subject; sometimes, the remnants of these systems get caught-up in the jet stream and deepen as conventional deep areas of low pressure which then affect us, so there is a tenuous UK link anyway. Here's part 1:
Agreed - it's a subject I'm unfamiliar with (tropical meteorology), and it's a good reminder that, near the equator, the Coriolis Effect is much weaker than here in the mid-high latitudes.
