Amazing how she does that - light years ahead of her time. There were bars in Philadelphia during the late Sixties that featured Hot Gospel groups and I tried to get there as often as I could. Incredible talent going to waste. This doesn't follow, but 30 years later, Atlanta had a bar where Rockabilly bands played. Once again, mucho talent up the ying jang. They also had an Open Mike Night, which displayed what seemed like an endless stream of top notch performers. Making it big time must be strictly luck, because there certainly an abundance of gifted people out there floating around. I'm sure where you live it's the same situation. Here's another classic from the wonderful lady.
check out the "Windmill hand turning" on the solo, Hendrix, townsend, and lots of other classic guitarist's nicked it from this wonderful lady...She was the godmother of Rock 'n' Roll. Enjoy .
Visiting those bars in the Sixties, must have been a wonderful experience..Open Mike Night's are to this day a great place to see 'Real working Musicians" doing it purely for the love of the music. Sister Rosetta, must have been quite sensation at the time . A great post. Thanks, regards.Amazing how she does that - light years ahead of her time.
